Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
I can't be a fan of Bonnaroo unless I want it to stay the same every year? I think you're reading too deeply into my posts. I love Bonnaroo, and will go no matter the lineup. I just don't think reserving a spot for a jam band every year is necessarily the greatest thing ever.
What?
Have I ever held back from pointing out shortcomings in regards to anything? No. Have I been posting in this thread about my dislike of Widespread as a headliner again? Yes.
My point was that you called out whoreshak for calling someone out for their Coach fluffing on a Bonnaroo board. Yeah, we are all very aware of the differences between the two festivals and the fact that you'll never, ever see a jam band at Coachella, let alone a jam headliner. Mentioning headlining combinations we know we aren't getting does....what for this discussion?

Ok, I was wrong. Sorry. Back to your scheduled programming.
Hey everyone! After a semester from hell and immediate departure to Europe for a month of travel, I've missed a lot around here! I'm still I Europe (at a coffee shop in Dublin currently), but I'm itching to know the news. I haven't been on a computer since mid-December- just my iPhone when I have wireless- but I need to know the latest confirmations/rumors! Last I saw, circa mid-November, the rumors were Tom Petty, Muse, and unknown jam band. Any changes? I read the past few pages and the discussion sure seems to have shifted!
I know it's not strictly headliner stuff, but what about others? Wu Tang still a rumor? Anyone else? Sorry for the blatant request for news instead of reading. You know how painful pro boards can be on a phone. I'm catching up as best I can, but I get home to Knoxville late Tuesday night and start school early Wednesday morning. Thanks for the update guys! Can't wait for Roo 2013!!
For what it's worth, I'm gonna check out the Hangout, Coachella, and Ultra topics too. I'm definitely doing Hangout this year and hopefully one of the other two too. If anyone wants to post news here, though, I'd much appreciate it!
Cheers!!
-Matt
That's awesome man, where in Dublin have you gone? I went this summer and had a fantastic time. And I bought corn off some guy pretending to be homeless sitting on a bridge (not kidding)
So who does everyone think the Sunday headliner who fell through is? Furthur? DMB? Petty? I hope it was DMB, but maybe Roo had Phil lined up and then he bailed because THEY BOOKED KANYE.

Bonnaroo will eventually do away with the jam closer, seeing how empty the farm will be for WSP Sunday will help push things along (assuming they actually are the Sunday closer again).

Now why couldn't Phil be friends with WSP so he could tell them not to go? I mean that is logical according to the "Phil tells all his buddies NEVER to play Bonnaroo because of the not nice rapper guy" theory. Pretty sound reasoning.
Yeah, if they were gonna do away with the jam headliner, this seems like it woulda been the year with whoever was lined up falling through. Instead they doubled down on WSP.

Widespread Panic almost guarentees Macca. Mostly because they're a piss-poor jam band that charges like six dollars an appearance. If Mumford & WSP comprise two of the top 6, there's gonna be a lot of money floating around for one or all of the others.
Additionally, even though WSP would be a boring, awful, bummer of a show we'd all leave early, this year is forreal shaping up to be legit. Grizzly Bear, Japandroids, Alt-J, Tame Impala, Diiv, with heavy Wu Tang rumors? oh man, you guys. Even with the worst band in Bonnaroo history this year is still gonna rule.

I think the non-super-popular Sunday headliner is no accident. A slow trickle off the farm makes better sense than having almost everyone leave Monday morning.
No threats. It's just all the whining year after year ammounts to nothing. You are not curating this sucker and there's plenty of others to choose from if yr not pleased.
I'v been to coachella, good time. I have also been to lolla and bonnaroo. I'm not saying one is better then the other. All are great fests with there strong points and week points. I thing booking headliners unbiased of musical genre is a strong point I wish bonnaroo would pick up on. I know us talking about it won't change anything but Roo has greatly changed over the years. So in a public forum ment for discussion I don't think it's a taboo. And yes I keep folk on this board have had this discution but I haven't and other new members haven't. So you could just pass on it and let us have our discution. Im sure every topic you could think of has been discussed on here and they all just cycle as people come and go so just except that.
