Might as well get this going. COMPLETELY destroyed me at Coachella 10!!! Even non-fans would enjoy some aspect of the set. They really put on a great show guys and we'd truly be lucky to have them. They got lasers man, lasers!

I dont hate Muse but, their music really does nothing for me and I could probably think of 50 bands I would rather headline than them, but I think they would be great for late night which. Defiantly a million times better than Skrillex

Are you serious? Muse is the biggest band in the world. They sell out more concerts than anyone and fill 80k seat stadiums and you think they would play late night Which?
If Muse is there, I will be there. Their live show is absolutely incredible. If you dont like thier music, you will have a blast at their live show.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I know just the singles by Muse and I caught them at Coachella in 2010 and was absolutely blown away. The spectacle and HUGE wall of sound they created for just 3 guys was pretty astounding.
Not really. When it comes to live shows I rate Radiohead and NIN far above move everyone else. Muse is the only other band besides the chance to see David Gilmour that I would rate even close. Their live show is just stunning. If you enjoy live music and incredible musicians, you will enjoy Muse's show whether you like their music or not.
When Muse tours, they are the biggest act in the world. Even bigger than Radiohead and there is a reason for that. I went with a group of like 15 last year to Kanrocksas and I was the only Muse fan there and some of them were actually going to bow out of seeing them. Everyone ended up going and everyone was instantly a fan.

I'll throw my hat into this for sure. Ever since I watched the Live at Wembley show I've wanted to see Muse live and I can't think of a better place for it to happen
Could you imagine if they resurrected the UFO idea they had, where a UFO would take off from the middle of the crowd during their set and shoot lights/lasers out of it over the crowd. That would be amazing!

Why does Muse seem to be the one band whose fans are convinced that everyone will enjoy their live show, regardless of whether or not you like their music? I see this all the time, whether it's on this or other forums, or people I know in real life. I've probably heard around 7-10 Muse songs, and every single one makes me cringe. I'm about 99.9% sure I'd dislike their show.
That said, it won't really bother me if they're there. It's pretty rare I'm interested in more than one headliner in a given year anyway.
Matt Bellamy decribed the new album as a christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, with some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia. They put on incredible shows and have alot more energy than Radiohead.
The radiohead show was the best thing I have ever seen.. But all the people around were not moving at all. Muse is high energy and would kill it at Roo.
That just about says it all. I've seen Muse twice and walked off both times completely blown away thinking "damn that just a GOOD live show." All excuses and arguments are completely invalid... because they but on an awesome f@cking show. Like others have said, the energy is crazy. You forget how many hits they have, and they are all very talented. Bellamy, like Thom Yorke, is a very multi-faceted musician doing a range of vocal parts and a variety of instruments. Piano parts rule.
I think everyone always says "you don't have to like Muse to love their show" because simply the performance value is so high.
Then again, I'm the guy who also pushes for for Weird Al at Roo for the same reason, so what do I know really?

If I had to bet money on one band to headline next year, Muse makes more sense than anyone else. Bonnaroo is the only big music festival they HAVEN'T already headlined They killed it at Lollapalooza last year. Epic arena rock that works so well in a live environment. I'd be all for it
I understand the logic behind them being a headliner in '13 (new album coming out, never playing Roo, etc.) But they did a lot of festivals last year, including two "special" shows at Reading and Leeds celebrating the ten year anniversary of Origin of Symmetry. Do we really think that they would hit up the festival circuit again next year or even just do a one off headliner at Roo?
Those guys love doing festivals. I'd imagine they'll play any major fest that's offered to them next year. Makes perfect sense that Roo will be one of those shows. Plus, they are doing a European tour through Fall/Winter which means they'll likely be Stateside Spring/Summer.

They are one of the biggest festival bands out there. In the early days of the band they use to attend festivals together and that is how they got the idea of going out and doing an all-out show every time they take the stage. These guys never phone or mail it in, it is a 110% every single time. I saw an interview by Matthew Bellamy where he basically said he would love to do nothing but festivals. If they are offered a spot, they will be at any festival that does as long as it doesnt conflict with a tour.

Well that certainly answers my question. I was asking solely out of curiosity. I haven't had the chance to see them live, but from the videos Ive seen, Id be all for 110% on Saturday night.
I literally screamed like a crazed '60s-era Beatles fangirl the first time I heard them do this. From the opening note, I was ecstatic. It's still my #1 favorite song of theirs.
Naysayers can remark all they want about Matt Bellamy's voice, but he's well-trained and deserving of the Freddie Mercury or Jeff Buckley comparisons. The rest of the band are equally talented musicians. OK, maybe the classical music influence on The Resistance isn't appealing to some. So be it. They're tight; they're talented; and if they headline, I will trample you to get a close spot. ;D
While I'm not hoping for Muse, I don't have the same distaste for them as some people. As long as that dubstep bit is a one time thing I'm happy enough having them headline. It'll be like Chili Peppers this year or Eminem last year, a headliner I used to quite like and will see part of before heading over to get a jump late night.
I used to really like Muse, and I still kinda do, but their last album turned me off to them. Just saying that, personally, there are A LOT of other headliners I'd choose.
I would have the same reaction to them headlining like when I heard RHCP were there this year: "Eh."
