My daughter and I were at All Good this past weekend and while the boys were sleeping we were dancing it up to Shpongle. She loved it which made me love it even more.
Listening to Holy Other's new LP "Held" based off the positive Pitchfork review. This is my kind of "intelligent dance music" if anyone uses that genre name anymore. Well recorded, dreamy, fascinating, and highly listenable. Don't know anything about them beyond this first listen.

I actually still prefer his EP, "With U". Check it out. I'm hoping he ends up on the Coachella lineup.

You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Can anyone offer any insight on Paper Diamond? Trying to decide on seeing them(with friends) or STS9(possibly alone).
To me Paper Diamond is just a PL wannabee. Alex was so much better when he was with Pnuma Trio. Even his solo producing effort as just 'Alex B' was better than Paper Diamond. I am just biased because I was a huge Pnuma fan in 2008 and 2009 and to see him ditch that awesome group for something as uninspired as 'Paper Diamond' is heartbreaking.

Thanks! Exactly the answer I was looking for, and I'm seeing Pretty Lights the night before so it's not even a question now.
Why you should know him: just released his debut on FlyLo's Brainfeeder label.
Caught him last night at voodoo fest and was blown away, maybe the most eclectic DJ set I've seen. I know at one point he did Knuckleheadz > a Louis Armstrong hot 8s song > nin closer. His own stuff is great, kind of FlyLoish but with more of a horrific tone. His banter with the crowd was great, and it was cool to see the kids eating up his stuff.

Here are my Gaslamp Killer videos from Voodoo this past weekend. Taken from the front row with my iPhone 4S, pretty good video and audio quality.
National Anthem > Zelda > Empire Strikes Back > ?
Dirt off your shoulder > what you know about that > drum n bass
