Glen Hansard released his debut solo outing, Rhythm and Repose, on June 19th via ANTi- Records. The 11-track effort was produced by Doveman (aka Thomas Bartlett), and features contributions from Swell Season cohort Marketa Irglova, composer Nico Muly, and half of Bruce Springsteen’s current horn section. In addition to his own shows, Hansard will join Eddie Vedder on his recently rescheduled solo tour.

Had a moment where I seriously considered visiting Austria for the first time since Glen and Dylan are playing there on the same weekend (though in different cities). I'm glad I held out, as he's now coming 3 miles from my house. The wiener schnitzel won't be the same, though.

Can you imagine if they played together? Dylan's one of his idols. There was a great article in Sunday's NY Times about that: "Hansard fell in love with Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Van Morrison — they are still his holy trinity."
I'd LOVE to see a festival with those 4 guys headlining. Or they could all pile in a bus, hit the road and call it the "Troubadour Tour." Alas, the stuff of dreams...

That would be incredible, but if we're going to dream, let's do it big: I'd fly to the moon to see Dylan, Guthrie, and Cash play a triple-bill, and let's make sure Elvis is in the front row so Bob feels compelled to give it his best.
