I must be one of the few who's heard "Happy" < 10 times. And I heard "Wrecking Ball" for the first time in its entirety a month or two ago. I should probably turn on the radio every once in a while.
I never listen to the radio on my own. In fact I can't because the radio in my car doesn't work anymore. I still manage to hear all of these songs somehow. But this is probably why I don't cringe every time Happy comes on, because I haven't heard it as much as people that actually do listen to the radio.

Miley is EVERYTHING!!! ...I wish I was more than half kidding.
As far as Shake It Off goes I think its super catchy and I love, love, love when my four year old belts out that I "coulda been gettin' down to THIS. SICK. BEAT!"
I've only heard 3 of the songs on that list all the way through. I liked the Meghan Trainor song the first few times I heard it. I listened to fancy so I would know what song Weird Al was making fun of. Happy was totally unavoidable and gets my vote for catchiest song of the year.
Like is a strong word. I like the song, but I wouldn't buy the album or anything.
But, you just called her "awesome." Backtracking already? Don't bother tryin.
Not backtracking, I'm owning that I like the song. But I've only heard like 2 other songs and didn't like them as much, so I wouldn't say that I'm an Iggy Azalea fan.
I also vote happy as being the catchiest song of the year. I only heard it tho when I actually wanted to listen to it. I leave the radio on for my dog when I leave and sometimes it would be on when I got home, but for the most part I didn't really hear it that much.
The Megan Trainor song is my jam. 1karen1 can attest to how I get down to that song. I freaking love it. (It's the all about that bass song Karen.)
Dark Horse is also great, but I wouldn't call it catchy.

And who's Magic?
I only know who Magic is because they were playing on tv one day and it said they had the #1 song in the country. I had never heard the song and it's awful, so I was wtf is this? and why is it #1?

Just looked it up on rdio. Similar artists are: Smash Mouth, Sublime, No Doubt and Sugar Ray. This ought to be good.
E: Made it through 30 seconds. Ugh. I have the icks now.

The lead singer of Magic! is also a singer/songerwriter/producer guy who did songs with the Beibs, Iggy Azalea, Shakira, and others. Then decided he wanted a band and Magic! was born.

To the best of my knowledge, I've never heard it. I think the only song on that list I've heard was Fancy, and that's only because Josh forced me to listen to it (not because he liked it; more because he was fascinated by it).
Mine too, but I couldn't bring myself to mention it and possibly tailspin someone into finally losing it over hearing that song (even in their head) one more time.
Yet you mentioned "Fancy."
While we're all here, these are the songs that have hit #1 on Billboard so far this year:
All About that Bass - Meghan Trainor Shake it Off - Taylor Swift Rude - Magic! (6 weeks!) Fancy - Iggy Azalea (7 weeks) All of Me - John Legend Happy - Pharrell Williams Dark Horse - Katy Perry Timber - Ke$ha The Monster - Eminem
Meghan Trainor has been #1 for three weeks, which I think is longer than TayTay, if that counts for anything.
I've only heard All About That Bass, Fancy and Happy. I would personally say that Happy is catchier for a longer period of time because I find myself making up words to it pretty consistently. All About That Bass was stuck in my head for a while because this cute girl at work kept bobbing her head and simply saying, "I'm all about that bass, 'bout that bass."
I'm sort of nervous to listen to these other songs, but since I never listen to the radio I would only ever hear them by accident. I might just choose to stay blissfully unaware.

It blows my mind that people have NOT heard Fancy or Happy by now. It's not the overkill which Royals got last year, but it's getting close.
And while we're all here, here's my ratings of the songs above
OK, in small quantities: All of Me - It's a bit sappy, even for my crazy tastes. But for pop standards, its pretty well done. (6/10) Rude - it's really not that terrible, but I wouldn't want to hear it more than once or twice a week (4/10) Dark Horse - I don't like Katy Perry, while Three 6 Mafia is a guilty pleasure. It's best not to listen to the lyrics. (3/10)
Next tier: Happy - It seems bizarre Pharrell's most popular hit is off a soundtrack to a kids movie, especially considering the next most notable track he's been involved with this year was Future's Move That Dope. It would have been an ok track, say 4/10, had I not heard it 1700 times this year. It's almost at Royals level, aka unlistenable due to overkill.
Whatever: The Monster - I haven't cared about Eminem in years, and I don't like Rihanna at all. I'm pretty sure I've never heard more than 30 seconds of this. Shake It Off - TayTay is 24 going on 15, and has been singing about the same shit every album. Even if this wasn't about boys, I don't care anymore.
Just all around excruciating: All About That Bass - I lasted about 30 seconds before giving up and going back to the Black Lips webcast from last night Fancy - they're probably playing this at Gitmo to torture prisoners... or should be Timber - I'm pretty sure when I die and arrive in Hell, this one will be repeated 1000 times over. The mere sound of Pitbull and/or Kesha makes me cringe.

I swear, until last night, I had only heard two on this list - Happy & All of Me. I only heard All About that Bass because of the World Series game last night. The kids started asking us about some of these other ones, and we had no clue. Actually, Brad started singing the Reba version of Fancy when the kids asked about that one.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

The only song on that list I didn't know was Magic!. Googled it. Hate you all for exposing me to it. But I'm just commenting to throw my vote for catchiest song at Shake It Off as well. I can't give my vote to Happy in good conscience because I think "catchy" has to involve some head bobbing, etc. Not just thoughts of murder.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Today I've spent an absurd amount of time listening to covers of songs on Youtube and I keep finding myself listening to Ed Sheeran's covers of various songs... After this first one in particular, you can color me a fan. I am an Ed Sheeran fan. (granted, I have yet to listen to any of his actual songs. But boy can sing.)
I was 14 and had just moved back to America from overseas. I only owned 3 CDs, two of which were Green Day, so my knowledge of music was microscopic. I was setting up a desk with my Dad listening to the "cool" college rock station I had just discovered and they said "Caller 10 wins free tickets to one of the shows we are sponsoring!". And I won. And lost.
Weird way to start off my lifetime of going to concerts.
