They moved from right around the corner next the the famous Junkman's Daughter:
Then proceeded to NOT make a lot of money, and they almost shut down. But there was this major outcry from the city, "save criminal records" benefit concert, stickers (have one on my fridge), Facebook page etc, and they still stand there today Great little place.

People's Records in Detroit MI. It's almost more of a thrift store than a record store, but if you have a few hours on your hands and just want to dig (and like indie soul releases) this is the place to go.

You beat me to it. They also have a 2 for a dollar room of stuff that hasn't been well sorted yet. I've found some gems in there over the past year.

LOOOVEEE this store. When I went there a few years back, they had some imports coming in just before Christmas. I picked up some great stuff, and as I was there Ian called to have them hold some stuff for him. I guess he worked there many moons ago.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Also, the guy who owns Crooked Beat Records (Bill Daly) used to work at Schoolkids Records back in the late 80s/early 90s. The current owner of Schoolkids (Stephen Judge) used to work with him and is still good friends with him.

These are from my record store on Record Store Day this past year. The cooler store I used to go to shut down and I don't think there are photos of it online but this place is alright.
