I didn't really know a lot about this movie until right before I ended up watching it. I didn't even know die antwoord was in it until they showed up on screen! I went in with no preconceived ideas on the movie and it surprised me how much I ended up like it. It was directed by the guy who did District 9, and I think if you're familiar with that movie and enjoyed it you'll like Chappie. I enjoy reading about different theories on how we should deal with robots and artificial intelligence, and if you're unfamiliar with this movie like I was that's one of the basic themes. I thought all the actors did a great job. Hugh Jackman as the villain was interesting, I only know him from x-men where he's the hero but I thought he did a excellent job as the tech-y bad guy who just wants his ideas taken seriously. Ninja and Yolandi from Die Antwoord were fantastic, they might've been my favorite parts of the movie. I thought they would get annoying at first but I learned to like their characters more and more as the film went on. Finally, I think everyone would be able to connect with Chappie. Seeing him "grow up" was surreal; I really liked the way they handled him learning human behaviors and him acting like one himself. Overall I think if you're even remotely interested in robots or A.I. you'll like this movie. It's long but I think it's worth it.
In light of recent news, and while the laundry finishes up before I go outside...
Very well made documentary as HBO is usually known for. Glad that this malicious psychopath is finally getting justice served upon him.
Definitely worth a watch. If you are already familiar with his story you can save some time and watch the last two episodes. Moral of the story, watch out for those hot mic's.
The finale of this show..... wow. Please binge watch this.
Read about his arrest last night and immediately started watching this after Walking Dead and John Oliver. Oh holy shit, it was apparent this guy was a guilty from the jump.
I was up until midnight watching all but the last episode. Fascinating and REALLY creepy. Glad I don't remember my dreams from last night.
You may remember your dreams tonight after you watch the final episode. The last 5 minutes is some of the most insane shit I've ever seen/heard in my life. I had to go for a walk to process that shit.
I used to LOVE this movie. Been a solid 10, maybe 15 years since I've seen it though. It's past due.
I watched this for the first time all the way through two weekends ago while I cuddled with bonzai & tronik. The sing alongs that came about were great. And those balls!
(I'm obviously talking about the contact juggling. C'mon..... )

The movie actually held up pretty well. I really do have a special place in my heart for old school special effects. It's amazing what they were able to do without computers back then, took a real talent.
And there's no denying the power of Bowie's bulge. It has it's own gravity, pulling you in.

Also, luckily did not remember my dreams, but sure did have a hard time falling asleep.
