Awww, c'mon now! This is like comparing apples and oranges! They're both fruit, but one you can bite into and enjoy immediately; the other requires some effort to peel, but is still refreshingly delicious.
MMJ: best live red-blooded American rock 'n roll band currently touring. Radiohead: best non-American alternative band currently touring.
Both have brought me to tears in their shows. Both have moved me equally with their songs. Both have a few songs in their repertoire I don't care for. Both have songs that lift my spirits and make me glad to be alive.
I love MMJ, but my first love will always be Radiohead. (And FTR, I've seen MMJ 4x as often as I've seen Thom & the boys, so my opinion isn't based on the # of concerts I've attended.)
My Morning Jacket is so much better than Radiohead live it really isn't even close.
I ain't found anything better out there and I've seen quite a few shows.
You really lose me at the "it really isn't even close part." I just can't see MMJ ever matching the full audio/visual experience of Radiohead's current tour.
I honestly don't know if I can even really make an argument here. The difference is so far in my mind that it is hard for me to understand how others see it otherwise. I think a fairer fight would be MMJ vs Neil and MMJ would still come out ahead.
I obviously don't get Radiohead but all you people who like moping under overcast skies can keep on with that. I'll stick with a brilliant night with a million stars and the biggest moon you've ever seen.

*The two bands fought it out for 7 days and 7 nights to see who would claim musical supremacy. In the end, the victor could not be decided, so they merged into a supergroup and conquered the world--headlining every major US festival from then on 'till eternity.
