Everyone and their mom was considered for the job. Hart cast a pretty wide net, and I was talking about people that actually got offered the job. Fedora never got offered the job according to pretty much every story I read. They supposedly interviewed him Tuesday in NYC and then offered on Strong right after that, so you would have to assume Fedora didn't impress them for whatever reason. Also, I would like to see where you saw this story about Bowden because I have spent a ridiculous amount of time reading about this over the last two weeks and never heard his name mentioned once even as people they were considering much less as someone that they offered on.
Yeah, this game offered no surprises. Boise State was an exception.
FSU would have seriously blown them out if they would've capitalized on more opportunities during the 1st half. Their line has dominated on both sides of the ball. NIU never had a chance.
Where did you hear this? I'm on tigernet but don't see anything new about him.
on the scout site, there's a wr in fl that they just offered. they told me him they have a spot opened up because one of the wr's is going pro.
Well, I was wrong. I thought for sure he would be back. Can't say I blame him though. Hoping he'll be a high pick & get paid the big bucks. He'll be the kind of guy that gives back. Not that Daniel needs a lot of improvements done.

I hoped he would. but definitely can't blame him. we're still loaded at wr. so we'll be fine.

If you look, Oregon hasn't nailed down a ton of recruits for this year. I chalked it up to Kelly's future being uncertain. It will be interested to see how his announcement changes their numbers coming up to signing day.
I posted in the other thread about how Bama is a 9.5 point favorite and how that is insane. Do you think it is Bama being overrated or ND being underrated?

Bama being overrated.
Everyone basically thinks that Notre Dame and Alabama are the same types of teams, but are just assuming Bama is better because they're in the SEC.
I even read an article saying if Notre Dame was in the SEC they would never have had the 1-loss record Bama had.
I expect this game to be low scoring and Notre Dame to be losing with the ball in the 4th quarter after a big turnover with a chance to win.
Whether they do or not, I have no idea, but people expecting a double-digit blowout will be let down. Notre Dame's front 7 is as frightening and NFL-ready as Bama's. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't watched Notre Dame this year, or is underrating them.

The defenses are a wash to me. Anyone who says there is a huge difference is high. I think the biggest difference is in the offense. Bama is 13th in points for. ND is 75th. You could argue that ND has a tougher schedule, but it's not that much of a difference to make up for that big of a gap.
Bama has a lot in the intangibles categories. Bama has national titles in the last 2 of 3 years while ND is coming off two consecutive 8-5 seasons. ND is undefeated but their victories against Stanford (bad refs) and Pitt (chokearific kicker) leave a lot of people with bad tastes in their mouths in regards to wanting to pump up ND being legit despite them beating Michigan and Oklahoma.
Chip Kelly is staying at Oregon. Is he ever going to make the jump or is he just gonna be an every year tease?
What I don't get is how this doesn't hurt his recruiting.
Also, I haven't been paying attention, but has the overrated SEC been exposed for being overrated yet?
Oregon recruiting is different. they get the kids they want to play their style. they don't usually end up with a highly ranked class. they just get what they need to run that offense.

What I find funny is the Irish almost losing to Stanford is looked at more negatively than Bama actually losing to A&M.
I think it has a lot to do with the SEC bias in the media, but whatever.

I know how they recruit, I was more talking about them getting any top recruits to commit knowing that Kelly is likely to leave as soon as an NFL owner loses his mind and just gives him autonomy to control the entire franchise.
there is definitely SEC bias. I would like to see ND win just for that reason. with the SEC losing their 3 biggest games it might temper that a little bit.

Just looking forward to a fun game tonight.
Yeah, it does seem like people have forgotten about that loss really quick. I think it will be a close game which will be nice considering the sh*t show the NFL put on this weekend.
