I didn't see this posted. I just stumbled across this festival when I was looking at Galactic's website for upcoming shows.
It's a Film & Music festival. Apparently the music portion is only 2 days of the festival on 11/9/2012 & 11/10/2012. The lineup has quite a few New Orleans bands that are right up my alley.
I can't find ticket prices on their site. When you hit the ticket link it goes to Facebook, which is blocked at work. Anyways, here's the lineup:
Friday, November 9
The Blues Brothers Galactic Trombone Shorty Keller Williams Dustin Lynch Otis Lotus Jon Pardi Frankie Ballard Miss Willie Brown Rochelle Harper Band
Saturday, November 10
Gregg Allman Kevin Costner and Modern West Soul Asylum Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe Spyro Gyra Sixpence None The Richer Elizabeth Cook Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit My Name is John Michael Moon Taxi Jaimoe Jasssz Rosco Bandana Maggie Eckford Buddy & The Squids

No f'n way! I'm doin this over Bear Creek. This def sounds crazy, but this will cost me way less money, I won't have to take any time off from work, I won't have to camp in the cold, and it's less than an hour away.
I heard about this festival earlier this year, and I was anticipating what the lineup would would like; it's not my cup of tea, but this is really cool for the Biloxi-Gulfport area. The only other thing they have is Gulfport Music Festival, or as I like to call it, BayFest-Mississippi Version.

^^ it was a huge embarassment and another fine waste of B.P money. I only went the Friday night and there were like 250 people there, maybe, when they were clearly expecting 10K! I had a good time, but I have a good time everywhere I go. Blues Brothers were awesome.
The crowd was so lame I couldn't even get into Galactic because the crowd was literally sucking the energy out of me and the band.
Yep. Almost embarrassing just to be there. Inexcusable crowd, given the lineup. Both Spyro Gyra and Karl Denson on Saturday absolutely killed it. Apparently this will be happening again next year, regardless of this year's turnout.
Wonder if they'll keep with the same style of acts (smaller club acts and heritage NOLA acts) like last year, or maybe try to go bigger to get more people to come. It would help if they were just a music fest or just a movie fest, though.
