I hope they bring this fest back. I've had such a good time the past 2 years especially in 2011 when you could just walk right up to the stage. I know that there were a lot of unhappy folks especially vip's but I hope they get everything worked out and bring it back!

IIRC, it was about this time last year that early birds were for sale. love deluna fest. nothing like a big festival in your back yard. even better, we spend the whole weekend on my dad's yacht at the marina. it doesn't get any better than that for a festival IMO.

It was leap day (2/29) last year when the $79.95 locals tickets went on sale.
If it does happen, I hope they offer <$100 early birds for locals again this year. I'll prob take off of work early that day to be sure I get one. I raced from work to Seville last year and got one about 30 min before they sold out. I remember so many people complaining about the price with no lineup announcement and calling me a fool for buying into it. They were eating crow when the lineup finally dropped and tickets were twice as much.
I'm gonna assume Soundgarden will headline the fest. I hope they get Alice In Chains as well. The Heritage stage was awesome last year. It was perfect. The best sound of any stage last year, in a secret rage spot most of the derps at the fest didn't know about. Best sounding Anders show I've seen definitely.
Def down for more hardcore punk at this fest. Hopefully it gets moved back a week so I can hit up Furthur Red Rocks.
My Morning Jacket on friday. Soundgarden on saturday. Some mediocre bullshit on sunday so I can leave early and get some sleep before work without feeling bad.

That sounds about right. I could even see Primus being in that MMJ spot.
signed Bjork would be great too if MMJ isn't possible. Give us a Jim James instead. I really just hope they don't blow their load on some bullshit like RHCP or DMB. And I really hope they lay down the punk, funk, and metal thick throughout that undercard.
You have to wonder if Soundgarden will be touring in the late summer/fall. PJ has an album coming out around that time and Matt Cameron can't be two places at once, and will want a little time with family before he heads out again with Pearl Jam.
As of the last couple of years, Iron Maiden is expensive as quack (probably twice as much as Sabbath) and extremely hard to get for US festivals. No way DeLuna gets somebody like them after losing their donkeys off last year.

True, but DeLuna's gotta do something to separate themselves from the pack and get more people there or it really will be done. Having country acts certainly didn't work. Go metal. Heavy metal. Get Maiden, and they will come. Heck, get Maiden AND Sabbath, then grab a major alternative name to even the headlining field. If you're DeLuna, you have to be in a "It's now or never" mentality.
What I'm proposing is:
Iron Madien l Black Sabbath l Radiohead? MMJ l FLips (Hangout won't have them, jump on it!) l Smashing Pumpkins and/or QOTSA
Also, drop the EDM and remaining country acts and get some serious punk names to suffice.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner is def the most epic poem made into a rock n roll song.
Epic is also a surfing term for type of wave, which is appropriate terminology to describe this fest, although the waves in Pensacola are not actually epic status.

Being that DeLuna is in september after high school and college is back in session doesn't help them. The metal and punk scene in US (and by far the worst in southeast) is on the bring of death. Those headliners would cost twice as much as those from last year and the draw would be not too much better than last year (only because Midtown killed the draw last year or PJ and Foo would have brought 50k to p'cola). What I think they need to do is learn from FFF fest and not blow 3M+ on headliners. There's no doubt that they lost money last year and I doubt they have enough BP money to take another huge gamble.

I'm very "Go big or go home" when it comes to these sort of things. I hope to run and own my own festivals one day (all inforoo'ers get a discount, of course). But really, I feel like that's the only way they can compete. And get off the same weekend as Music Midtown.
I'd suggest going back to October but ACL takes up two of those weekends now. You can't do Halloween weekend because of Voodoo, and you can't do the first weekend or you're up against BayFest (to real fest people this doesn't matter, but to locals it does). Any later you run the risk of it being too cold, and no one wants to be on the beach when it's cold. Move it one weekend up, or heck, put it on Labor Day weekend. The risk of a hurricane is always a factor no matter what weekend it's on.
Late September is perfect weather because it's not miserably hot...it's f'n perfect! I'd rather there only be 15k people there. I am of the opinion that you can go big without having huge headliners. I'd rather have a festival for true music fans with a solid undercard all day on multiple stages. The expensive headliner pool and competition is not really worth the gamble IMO. And if you win the gamble with DMB and RHCP then you haven't really won have you? I'd rather this fest stay small and not get anyone bigger than a soft headliner at a major fest: Jack White, Beck, Soundgarden, etc. That's just me being greedy on having a good time though. Having a stage devoted to metal/punk/rock, another to funk/jam/country/bluegrass, another to hip hop/r&b/reggae/edm, and the main for the bigger acts of all genres (but not too big) seems like the next logical step for this fest to me.
