Strangely enough, I only tend to get hangovers these days when I drink beer. When I stick to wine or liquor, I'm fine. No idea why.
I'm the exact opposite. I've never had a hangover from beer and only get very slight hangovers from wine. Liquor hangovers are BY FAR the worst for me.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I think as you get older your paycheck and preference lead you to drinking stronger beers, which can give you more of a hangover than that case of bud light did back in your prime.
With liquor, I think you're generally in good shape as long as you stay away from things that are sweet. It's often the amount of sugars that does it to you as much as the alcohol. People drinking stuff like rum & coke are just asking for it. If I'm drinking liquor I mainly stick to gin, bourbon, or scotch on the rocks, or occasionally will have either bourbon or rum & (sugar free) ginger ale.
I drink vodka on the rocks. For me, it's not the sugar. The only alcohol related sugar I do is the wine.
EDIT: But I do totally agree with you. Sugar is a bastard on the hangover. My mom loves me to make her mojitos with her fresh mint during the summer. Those nights = Hangover of death.

I do not not go full speed as often as I used to. Many factors attribute to that. Mostly, living in a new place, not knowing anybody, I am my driver. Aaaaaanyway, when I do get a chance to go all out I usually start with beer. Lately I have been leaning towards Lambic, I like the sourness of the Raspberry. My Achilles heel is jager, hands down, preferably straight.
Yea, Absinthe is fairly new to me. I have always been intrigued by it, just the history and legend.
I am pretty sure the Mr. Fancy title came mostly from my proclivity towards VIP and perks when it comes to festivals and events. Absinthe is probably the other half. :-)
