An "intern?" With two posts? Bonnaroo somehow being so careless with a major headliner like the Stones? Bonnaroo getting the Rolling Stones and McCartney?
Really? I'm disappointed in all of you.
The Moon Taxi info is available publicly on the Riverbend website. Its common knowledge in the industry that when an artist is booked at a large venue the contract usually includes an exclusion clause. Also the Rolling Stones information was offered to me. I did not solicit the information.

Sir, would you please get out of town? Preferably on a rail?
just hard this from the booking manager at the Riverbend fetival. The Rolling Stones Accepted an offer from Bonnaroo!
Any more info/details to this?
No, I wasn't soliciting any information from him we were talking about Moon Taxi performing and I told him people on here were thinking that they would be at Bonnaroo he said, "Nope we got them this year, I personally could care lees if they did Bonnaroo too but the higher ups make us include the Exclusion Clause. We were trying to get the Rolling Stones but they accepted an offer from Bonnaroo" That's all I got.
When you have too large festivals in close proximity to each other its a bidding war to get artists. All the contracts include an Exclusion clause.
For example I really want to see just Moon Taxi if they were doing both festivals why would I pay $300 to go to Bonnaroo when I can pay $45 to go to Riverbend? Its all about drawing crowds.
Just FYI any information I post here has been offered to me. I'm not running around the office asking everyone what they know about Bonnaroo.

Jesus! you guys are mean behind a screen. I'm just trying to share what I know. Just because we are not on the farm doesn't mean you shouldn't be trying to live the philosophy of the festival.

The other thing is, why would a small festival like Riverbend be going after an act like The Rolling Stones? Seems highly implausible.
I don't think they were (though I may have skipped a post or two). I was under the impression that he was told Stones would be at Roo but that it wasn't because Riverbend tried to book them. Could just have been chatter among promoters.

We've shared a few artists with Bonnaroo in that past. The Beach Boys for example. They were at Riverbend in 2011. What artist we seek depend upon the amount of sponsorships we receive. This year we had over $2 million in sponsorships really early. So we have been able to go after bigger artists.

Please explain to me how the HELL a festival charging $45 a ticket would even fucking CONSIDER trying to book The Rolling Stones?

This has turned into Shenanigans... If were hearing actual relelvant news that seemed even remotely plausible we wouldn't be having these types of conversations.

This is also entirely possible.
Yes that's entirely possible. I know the booking manager is really good friends with one of the founders of Superfly. He is an older gentleman too so I don't know that he would just be pulling stuff out of his ass to impress an intern.

He said specifically that his boss mentioned that they (Riverbend) tried to book the Stones but that they had accepted an offer from Bonnaroo:

Hey dude,
Not being a smartass here. Just wanted to let you know it's appreciated that you're sharing info that you have been given and that people may be busting your chops a bit they aren't trying to literally hurt your feelings.
Just like in life, you may run into a few more abrasive personalities. It's important to remember this part from our "Welcome to Inforoo" letter:
We're all here for the same reason. Some just tend to be a bit grumpier than others. Stick around and get to know all of us and you'll see there's no real malice in these posts.

You're right. I missed that. Think they're messing with him

Just realize that every year people sign up here around this time and give us information. Most of it ends up being wrong.
Even insider caught some negativity and people doubting her early on. Then she was proven right a few years in a row and now she's basically known as the most credible source on here lol.
If you do end up being right about the Stones then we'll know next time not to doubt you
