A nice little tune-up against Butler before the showdown. I hope your boys are ready, Jackson.
(FWIW, I think Zeller 100% has a "screw always growing up in big brother's shadow, I'm going to destroy his team even if he's not on it anymore" game....so that'll suck)
I guess "tune-up" doesn't mean what it used to. Even as an un-ranked mid major, Butler has to be taken serious with Brad Stevens as a coach. Carolina's young players learned that beating up on one of the worst big conference teams in the country doesn't mean anything the next night. Butler learned that no lead is safe in big boy basketball.
Macadoo is extremely talented, but not close to being the best player in the country. He shies away from contact. He should be more physical, given his athletic build.
I do agree that Cody is planning on showing out in the game next week. He may have been in Tyler's shadow as a youngster, but that was gone last year, even with Tyler's breakout year. Cody is the better ball player, by far.

I am a better ball player for sure. Straight ballin all day everyday.
A Division III guard dropped 138 points tonight. That is just crazy. How he found enough time in the game to do this is dumbfounding. This record will not be broken for a long time if ever
UNC looked absolutely insanely jokingly bad and still came back to pull it within 6 at one point. Even with all the 12 year old looking white Butler kids hitting a ridiculous amount of threes.

I am insanely jealous of everyone who actually got tickets to the game tonight. IU's looking pretty good so far, nothing stellar but they're playing very solidly.
Maybe IU really is a dominant #1. Or maybe UNC is just mediocre this year.
No, they're good, they're just young and lack experience. They're going to be a much tougher team in the second half of the season. How they respond to getting steamrolled will speak a lot towards what kind of time this will be.
Nah, I agree, Flanz, just making the obligatory sadsack, crow-eating post. In addition to the inexperience, I think the fact that we love to shoot threes and jumpers so much (at least early in the season) will result in a lot of inconsistency, which is why last night we looked so solid in the first 15 minutes and then so miserable in the last 25 minutes.
Yeah UNC will definitely figure it out and put it together in the upcoming months. There schedule is basically built from here on out for a young team to get it together. I think they're a definite sweet sixteen and possible elite eight depending on how they respond.

UNC will be ok if Roy will tinker the gameplan, something he doesn't have a good history of doing.
Typically they are a team that gets out and runs and rebounds and gets to the basket. However, this year they don't have a legit post player, yet, and Strickland is the only guy who can take it to the basket. Tokoto will eventually be a solid slasher, but he isn't their yet.
Coming in to the challenge I thought the best the ACC could hope for was a 6-6 finish, its going to be tough to get there, they had some tough matchups. Quinn Cook was stellar against VCU's and Louisville's ridiculous defenses. But Aaron Craft is a team defense all in one player. Curious to see how he handles it. Guarding Desaun Thomas could be difficult for this team too, its going to have to be by committee, me thinks. Seth Curry's shin injury certainly didn't have any time to heal in Atlantis, but hopefully he can play through it tonight.
Well, Clemson may have one of dumbest players in the country. Dude just straight up tells the cops he was playing video games & smoking weed. The night before the ACC-Big Ten challenge game. smh

Oh I agree, but this is small town SC. We will be one of the last places in the country to legalize. Bible thumpers & all that. I just don't understand why he didn't say the smoke detector went off b/c of something they were cooking. Or something besides straight out telling cops you've been smoking weed. Yes, I'm advocating lying.

The smoke detector didn't just go off. His apartment complex has a system in place to alert if a smoke detector is tampered with, which is what happened in this case. He unhooked the detector so it wouldn't go off. He tried to be smart, but in the end, he was still dumb. He has a history of bad decisions, I believe, but you may have to get Sang to verify that.
