I have a pretty good feeling we'll be getting them. I think they tweeted after the fall US tour ended that they'd be heading to Europe and then return to the US to play markets they hadn't previously hit up. They were great when I saw them in September, so I'm all for this.

Nah should be an awesome show... But the fact I am seeing them open for Sleigh Bells should let you guys know they are not big enough for some of the lineup spots y'all are suggesting.

There isn't a reason that they shouldn't come to new orleans next year since they said they are touring the south, but I could see them twice. Give me the bear!
Double post. I also relistened to yellow house and veckatimist under the influence last night and discovered things about them I've never heard before. And I've worn those albums out!

Grizzly Bear is not opening for Sleigh Bells. The Terminal 5 show is a one off for Sandy relief fund. It has 4 bands - Grizzly Bear, Sleigh Bells, Antlers and Cults all playing. Sure, SB is listed first, but virtually everything written about this show mentions GB first. Grizzly Bear sold out back to back shows here in September and would be a much bigger draw than Sleigh Bells in my opinion.

Yellow House is their first "proper" album (first as a quartet, second actual album), and it's still the best in my opinion. Veckatimest is the record that propelled them to the level of popularity they are presently enjoying, and while it's a great album, I'd place it third out of all their releases; I think Shields takes the conceits and concepts introduced in Veckatimest and expands on them, and I'd place it only behind Yellow House. They've also got an album called Horn of Plenty, which was their first actual album, and while its interesting, it's definitely more of a deep cuts type deal.
Of course, this is kind of a dumb argument. In my opinion, you could put Yellow House, Veckatimest and Shields in pretty much any order and be correct, as they're all pretty perfect.

Sleigh Bells is totally headlining... Go to the terminal 5 website Sleigh Bells is listed first go to second hand websites like stubhub and allgoodseats and they don't even mention Grizzly Bear. They advertise it as a Sleigh Bells show. Defend it however you want but Grizzly Bear is playing before Sleigh Bells and Sleigh Bells is being marketed as the draw..
I like Grizzly Bear, I'd like to see them at Roo... But you are kidding yourself if you think they are popular enough to get a prime spot like LN Which... Daytime Which, daytime tent, or LN tent are the best you can hope for.

Ah, that makes sense.
Sleigh Bells may well be a bigger draw, though. They're incredibly popular among the boneheaded teen set. You know, they're all edgy and hip and cool and absolutely emulatable and marketable and perfect prepped for co-option.

Thinking about it that way, you might be right. I was only going off recent show turnouts locally.

For what it's worth, last time they played daytime in a tent. I'd imagine they'd get bumped up significantly next time around, as they're a lot bigger now than they were in 2009. I'd say they're a tent closer, or a late-ish show on the Which. I could even see them closing the Which on a Friday or Saturday.
Listening to them now thinking how great a sundown which set would be
Thanks for the breakdown Juggs, I guess I have to go buy a couple CDs today!
Do yourself a favor and screw the CDs. Get both Yellow House and Shields on vinyl - pretty sure they come with downloads, so you can listen immediately. You can get them through Warp/Bleep. The 180 gram release of Yellow House is amazing. Probably my favorite sounding album I own.
Also, you may want to check out the Friend EP, especially Alligator (Choir Version), Little Brother (Electric), Shift (Alternate Version), Deep Blue Sea, and Granny Diner

If I saw Grizzly Bear open up for Sleigh Bells, it would be a good night. Grizzly Bear needs a set at night, preferably the Which but I'll take them in a tent
If I were to see these bands back to back, I'd rather see Grizzly Bear open the show. GB would be beautiful and relaxing, and I would be in heaven by the end of their set. Then I could get nice and drunk and rock out to Sleigh Bells. If it were the other way around, I wouldn't enjoy SB as much because I would be waiting for GB the whole time.
