Then again, I just checked a Mould DJ set on YouTube and it is very uptempo, party sounding EDM. Not what I expected.
Bob Mould DJ sets are great. He does DJ sets here in DC all the time and they are very popular. Electronic, house, techno - good mixes. Everything he touches is gold. If there isn't much going on when he's up, I'd definitely go check it out.

I wanted to see Thee Oh Sees twice but decided to see Chelsea Light Moving at night. Good decision. Thurston ripped it up at Red7 and they played some new tunes from a forthcoming album.
Little Boots was awesome. Kurt Vile put me to sleep. The Walkmen rocked. Cut Copy owned. Big Freedia twerked. Snoop Dogg was cool, then got old again. RJD2 was meh. There's a Black Stage? Too tired for NITES.

Holy shiz Moody Theater (ACL LIVE) is such a gorgeous venue. I hate to shiz on my Dear Ryman, but probably the best venue ive ever seen a show at.
MIA killed it. Tho her stage production is hideous. Looks like a steamboat circus. Big Black Delta canceled AGAIN. Melt Banana was scary, but awesome. Chromatics > Glass Candy was the highlight of my day. They were ao friendly, handed out about 100 vinyls afterwards and stuck around to sign them all.
CANT WAIT FOR MGMT TODAY ERRMAGHERDDD.
But for real, there's no way in hell Deltrons full Orchestra is fitting on the Blue Stage.

Everything on Sunday was great. Except Dessa, oof.
The Men really impressed me, wasnt expecting to enjoy their set. Bonobo blew me away too as I didnt realize he played with a live band and vocalist.
Got my fatass up on top of the skate vert ramp to photograph Killer Mikes set and the sound went out. He ended booking a last minute NITES set at Red7 and even gave Festival Snob a shoutout on stage during his set (WHAT!?!?).
Chali2na NITE set was pretty dope also. Fuckin Bushwick Bill sat in for a few tracks.
And just had a cool conversation with the guitarist Nick from The Men in the Dallas airport bathroom. Theyre headed back to NY with no further festival plans. IM SO HIPSTER YALL!
If I had come in here saying I thought The Men's set sucked, I would have gotten sh*t. But if I come in here saying I thought it was unexpectedly awesome, I get sh*t.
F*ck this Men noise (we all know they were great). How was Slayer?
I embedded myself in the pit for that madness for about the last 3-4 songs to get some photos. It was definitely a fun experience, but I can't say they made me a fan.
EDIT: And that sh*t was F*CKING LOUD!
EDIT EDIT: Funny story, I was in the pit shooting and of course kids were crowd surfing in left and right. One guy comes in, falls over the barrier, and immediately jumps up and starts screaming "OH MY GOD I HAVE A BONER! I HAVE A FUCKING RAGING BONER!" as he runs back out into the crowd. It was hilarious.

If there is anything I love as much as Thee Oh Sees and Deerhunter, it's beef and tacos. In fact, I have a steak tattoo sandwiched b/n tats of both of those bands on my arm.
I really wish you saw OBN III's. They are 100x more fierce live than on record.

Excellent food choices problem dog. I feel kind of bad for those who haven't experienced migas in Austin.
The vibe at this fest is always great. The weather was perfect and I didn't see a bad show. Bonobo may have been the best time I had at the park, but I'm still reliving that Chelsea Light Moving set at Red 7.
I was right beside whoever was filming this clip but was too caught up in my trance watching Thurston shred to notice anyone filming. His soundchecks alone are always killer then they just launch right into the first song.
