theres a pretty convenient gap for them to play a day at roo... im not saying its going to happen without a doubt. they have already announced they'll be playing more than one festival and im pretty sure the only one that they're confirmed for so far is coach.

And PS, in fact their appearance there is on the tour dates you posted.

It shows that they will be in the US playing shows at the time of Bonnaroo. It doesn't make them likely nor does it disqualify them. But it does indicate they're still a possibility after today's mini tour announcement.

They're playing Primavera too.

I hope it happens. I'd really like to see them, but this just feels like the type of thing Bonnaroo would pass on, for some reason. I hope I'm wrong. The fact that they are actually touring and playing other festivals does make them more likely, in my mind.

Yeah, I don't understand why CoS is saying they're logical for Bonnaroo. I want to see it. Don't just tell me these things for no reason and get my hopes up.
Sasquatch & Lola seem more likely. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
yeah sasquatch seems very likely. i would kill for them to play LN at roo
The problem with them playing LN is that they would demand the Which stage and I'm not sure they ahve enough material to be the sole Which LN act. Maybe they would do a split LN Which headliner with Postal Service and Passion Pit?

I don't see them getting a LN Which, more like a This or That tent set, or Which during the day.

Give Up has sold over a million copies (platinum) and they haven't toured in 10 years, they are not going to be in a tent.

This. 100%.
They're possibly my favorite band, and Give Up is definitely one of my top albums of all time. I think the lone NYC date is an indicator that some sort of East Coast run will happen around then. I'm glad they still have Fri/Sat/Sun of Roo open. I may do for them what I did for Radiohead last year and travel to see them right before Roo, if there is a show nearby.
And to Ben Gibbard, if for some reason you're reading this: Remember, you promised me that Postal Service would play at Bonnaroo! Don't let me down!
