Hardball would be requiring people to prove they heard at least 5 albums this month before voting.
In all seriousness the original intent of this thread was never to vote for an official inforoo album of the month. It was meant for every poster on the board to tell us the album they have been listening to the most aka their favorite album release for every month. It's an adaptation of the Now Playing, but filtering through just new releases and your personal favorite of each months new albums. From their it was turned into this vote for the best album thing, which is fine. It's fun to see what album gets the most love on here, but i don't care if you've only listened to one album all month long because you love it so much, or if you listen to every album that is released that you can't even remember what the albums released on the first tuesday sound like. I just want to know what you're listening to the most of new releases. I wish more people would actually get on this, but i am happy that it at least has as many contributors as it has.
That's also why, in response to Pops question, I don't need to listen to those other albums that are coming out. I know what I like. I pick the ones I know I like, and count on you guys to fill in the blanks. I know if one of those albums is really good, you'll post about it, and I'll go check it out.

I'm gonna listen to Nick Cave as much as i can tomorrow. if i voted right now it could be Jim James. Foals, MBV, or Apparat. But leaning towards Foals and Jim James.
Is it just me or this is an unprecedented first 2 months of the year? So many great albums already out in the first 2 months. I voted for Atoms For Peace, but easily could have given it to MBV or Nick Cave, then there is also Jim James and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

It gets better and better every year to be a music fan.
Apparat is pretty great, and I'll be listening to Jim James and Foals a ton! But this album, sank me. I'm pretty big on Cohen, and I'm pretty ashamed I've not listened to any nick cave and the bad seeds albums prior to this one. I feel wrong for not giving my vote to Amok. It just didn't grab me like Push the sky away did.

02/08 Tool 02/11 Jeff Mangum 02/17 of Montreal 02/29 Blind Pilot 03/31 The Naked & The Famous 05/14 M83 and I Break Horses 05/19 Flaming Lips, Young the Giant, Dawes and AWOLNATION 06/07 Bonnaroo 2012!!! 06/13 Roger Waters 07/28 Toadies
I haven't been on much the last few days because I've been working 12-14 hour days and I wanted to take a minute to cast my vote.
As we all know, there was a lot of great music released this month, but I would be lying to myself if I didn't rank Some for You by Warm Soda as my favorite. It is a 27 minute LP of power pop greatness. There is hit after hit after hit of sugary rock on this bad boy of an album that would have made them a radio smash in a just world.
1. Warm Soda - Someone for You
2. My Bloody Valentine - mbv
More favorites in no order:
Doldrums - Lesser Evil Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Away Atoms for Peace - AMOK Mazes - Ores & Minerals Apparat - Kreikafakjfdfa Iceage - You're Nothing

Is there a song of the month thread? Autre Ne Veut - Warning or James Blake - Retrograde. Hopefully March sucks for music so I can really get into all the good stuff from this month.
