Let's be honest, it's all garbage. Mindless teen video game soundtracks. Knob-twiddlers, play-button pushers and space bar set-stoppers. Disco died for a reason: It sucked. Who's with me? Power to the people who play instuments.

You know, just because you don't think what electronic producers use is an 'instrument' doesn't mean you're accurate. In fact, it just makes you look ignorant
I don't concern myself with accuracy and I enjoy my ignorance.
I will quote the shit out of that in the future to anyone who does or does not care to hear it because it is Gospel and that is undeniable truth to the righteous believers.

Or, it could have been taken as a toungue-in-cheek, overblown rebuttal to the MOAR OOONTZZ!! Thread, but that would entail a shred of a sense of humor. Also, what have you got against using periods, Mr. Thought Police? It makes you look rather ignorant.

My dad doesn't think the electric guitar is a musical instrument and that it ruined music. Congrats on being the new generation of crabby complainers resistant to change.
I love that people actually take a thread whoreshack made seriously.
Maybe some of us are tired of quality EDM being subjugated with the trash - and having people tell us that we aren't musicians. Or that we roll in our own shit. Especially after last years f'n disappointing EDM line up / moar untz is damn appropriate unless you just want star hacks like Skrillex, Steve Aoki, and such to control the argument.
It's not like this isn't a real sentiment.. here on this board

I might have totally read it all wrong, but I immediately thought Whoreshack was poking fun at the people who are always poking fun of EDM. Kinda like Randy Newman with Short People. Yeah, that's a random analogy...

I know it is a very real sentiment on this board. Music stereotypes make a quite frequent appearance on this board for pretty much all kinds of music. I just didn't want people to get mad at whoreshack when he isn't being serious about hating non-sh*tty EDM.
I feel ya, it's not like there are numerous festivals that cater exclusively to EDM. If you're into UNTZ, your only hope is that Bonnaroo add MOAR.
Actually, the more I have thought about it, Abra or Phi brought up a good point that an EDM stage, given that it is not in a position to mess up the sound at one of the tents, would be a positive to people who don't like EDM as it could open up some tent space for other kinds of acts in the late night that normally wouldn't get a shot since one or more of the tents during late night are automatically reserved for EDM acts. Also, like bandeto said, if you put a couple of more slots for EDM on the bill, they can take more chances and possibly book some EDM people that would be popular on this board and not just those that they book to sell tickets. Once again, this is all contingent on a lack of sound bleed to the tents.

Yeah, I get that, and I like a fair amount of EDM and am generally in favor. I just think it's a little rich to complain that Bonnaroo doesn't have enough EDM when it seems like there are an inexhaustible array of options for a music fan to get his EDM fix anywhere in the country. I just don't think it's some great travesty that Bonnaroo has the weakest EDM card of the 3 major fests.

Well I know it's a little surprising, but NYC isn't as rife with EDM Dj's who create work. As it seems - there are a lot of play by the book dj's at clubs here. A lot of the fest's this direction are not centered on electronic acts. There is also nothing like dancing your ass of in a field with like minded people.
Also I could never see myself at Ultra or Electric Zoo (that lineup sucks - more David Guetta, Tiesto, PL, and Aoki for all. ; I like a solid amount of good DJ's but would be tired of the lack variety.
Roo also did have more DJ's in the past but after the Arcade was all over with it, it has dropped off quite a bit
