Yeah, I get that, and I like a fair amount of EDM and am generally in favor. I just think it's a little rich to complain that Bonnaroo doesn't have enough EDM when it seems like there are an inexhaustible array of options for a music fan to get his EDM fix anywhere in the country. I just don't think it's some great travesty that Bonnaroo has the weakest EDM card of the 3 major fests.
I know you are partly responding to the original guy who posted the other thread. I was talking more on Bandeto's response. I may be assuming here, but I think Bandeto would be fine with the same amount of EDM or maybe even less if they just did a better job of picking artists rather than just booking the acts that the kids are going crazy for at the moment.

Picking artists that the kids are going crazy for at the moment sells tickets.

Correct, this is a business. AC puts names on the lineup not by who may or may not be the most talented and best suited, instead by who will draw as big of a crowd as possible. Sucks that sometimes it can attract questionable people, but that's just how it goes.

Sucks that it makes me not want to go to any of the EDM shows last year. ya, that sucked.
oh and Dave, same level - would obviously love the 2011 amount, but that is totally dependent on that extra stage
Coachella did it right. They had 2-3 years of cheese EDM, was able to have 2 years of two weekends and instant sellouts, THEN they were able to start taking more risks and introducing more underground EDM artists. But you have to play it safe when your festival doesnt even sell out every year.

Comparing Coachella's ticket sales to Roo's is faulty on so many levels. Also, I think writing it off to pumping up cheese EDM for 2-3 years discounts a lot of the things that they do right with the festival.

Welp, I'm just gonna take the complete and utter loss on this one. I'm in favor of fun and good music of any kind. I think I'd also benefit from taking a chill pill. My bad.
