5 more minutes and then you dont have to worry about using the link before posted online, I hope... I doubt they're really organized enough to do anything about the early submissions. They want your help. If anything, mayyybe put the returning volunteers that applied before noon today in a higher priority position than the ones that are new and submitted already. *shrug*
Ellie.......for real. I am patiently waiting. They posted on fb, but still there's no link on that page
*just realized to check their Facebook statuses* haha...durrr... they forgot to post the link on the site still. It'll be this, I'm sure:www.shiftboard.com/bonnaroo/

IT'S OFFICIAL! Bonnaroo commented the link is live now!
For those who have applied before, how does it work once you submit the application as far as sending in your deposit? Can this be done as soon as you apply or do you have to wait to hear back before you can pay the 300 and secure your spot? Also, for first year apps how good are my chances of getting Prefest if I apply first thing on Monday?
Fill out the app on Monday. You can only pay the deposit after you have been accepted. Within 72 hours of paying the deposit, you will be assigned a "C'roo." Odds are significantly lower that a first timer gets prefest but I'm not aware of any rule that first timers are never prefest. Especially with this new "GuRoo" position, it seems there may be a few less returning vols for regular prefest spots.
I'd make sure to put Tollbooth Parking as your second choice since they lose less time on the farm than other during-fest vols. Finally, you really ought to consider whether you'd be OK with getting during-fest and possibly missing shows. Once you put down the $300 deposit it's gone.
You said that the odds are significantly lower for a first timer to get put into pre-fest... My friends and I filled out the application soon after it opened, but what are the odds that we will get it, in your opinion?
Obviously, Pre-Fest is ideal, but we are going to go either way.

I really couldn't put a number on it. All I know is that significantly more pre-fest volunteers are returning vols than first timers. Again, your best best is to submit your deposit ASAP and pray that you get pre-fest. And if you plan on going either way, then there is nothing to worry about. You will almost definitely get accepted as a volunteer in some capacity.
Aaaack! How did you sign up already? There's no link, yet. I was told in an email the link would go live at 12pm EST today. btw, I'm a first time volunteer too....and probably closer in age to you than 85% of those who will sign up.
Probably cause I posted my email with link last week.
ooh! I'll let those on Facebook know then! Good to know!

Hope to see you there, old-timer!
I wish you old geezers would stay off of here!!
J/K... I'm a tad bit older than both of you and this will be my first year. Bonnaroo is just 70 miles down the road for me and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see it at least one time!
I'm REALLY glad to know there are others my age (or close to it) that will be there with the young'uns! Old rockers ROCK!
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

I volunteered last year and want to ensure that I get pre-fest this time around. If I submit my application this week and submit my deposit right when I get approved, do you think my chances of getting in are good in? Also, I volunteered last year with a friend who wants to do pre-fest as well, but he's not gonna have the deposit money between two weeks and a month from now. Will he be ok as long as we link up to work together I don't want one of us to get pre-fest and not the other. I also don't want to get stuck working during the fest, and would rather do post-fest than during. That's why I'm pissed that you can't switch over after you make your deposit.

4/30 - Suicidal Tendencies

Any one have any idea when we'll be getting our acceptance emails? I thought I read a week somewhere but I might be mistaken. I'm a returning volunteer and filled my application out last Thursday! Super excited to be heading back to the farm again with my best friend, this year we've recruited a newbie to come with is!
I got my acceptance a little bit ago. (submitted Wed I think)
You have 72 hours after the deposit until you find out your croo.
I'm sure you can email them to switch, especially if to post fest. Prefest is possible if return volunteers aren't quick to sign up yet and whatnot. Email and ask.

Sweet! Thanks! Hopefully my friend and I get our acceptance tomorrow!

This is my first time volunteering, but I want to try to and get into one of the Pre-Roo slots. Just applied and am anxiously waiting for the confirmation. I'm really excited to get on the farm early, and am really excited to have the time to get to know more people. Last Roo I was wayyyy too introverted and didn't talk to people. I'm hoping that throwing myself out there in volunteering will help!
YAY for a fast response (1 day after deposit submitted) and for being done by Friday night. Hopefully I get a good parking location (non-GA?). Seeing as how I'll have a 12-hour shift, I guess being in the sun may be inevitable, but oh well... just hopin the bf and others can join me or at least camp in the tollbooth/parking camping location.
Most likely you will be working one of the Toll Booths scanning people in and putting on their wristbands. If not,(which you hope it will be), you'll probably be in the field as a human traffic cone or physically flagging cars/RVs into parking spots. Its not a bad gig for what ya get out of it. Remember sunscreen, sunglasses, bandana, and drink lots of water whether on shift or off.

I'm not new to the toll booth scene. It's what I was signed up for the past 2 years. I actually helped at toll booth for once last year (got to scan in the first people in line! And even met some Inforoo folks coming through!) but almost helped with parking 2 years ago. Ended up just giving coffee to parking staff with the woman in charge of the Parking staff, lol... lots of sitting around waiting for something to do. Might be cool to see her again. I wonder if she'd recognize me. I was the only person awake the whole time we were out behind the stages waiting for parking jobs.
If they need me at toll booths, awesome! That was my #1 choice minus the whole shifts possible through Sunday. More than likely I'll help park/flag down cars in GA areas or maybe even park guests, VIP, etc. Who knows... I hope it's not too bad. My bf did Parking during daytime shifts and it was a lot of sun and long walk back to camp. I hope it doesn't end up too exhausting. Definitely bandanna, hat, Camelbak, snacks, mini fan/mister, etc on hand while on shift in the daytime.
All I know is I'm looking forward to getting my schedule at the end of May...and very anxious what my friends get assigned.
[Update:] My bf (zacd on here), managed to call them and get the Croo worked out to join me in Parking. Almost tempted to switch us to tollbooth, but we like the Friday guarantee to be done with Parking. Apparently the guy told him that VIP parking is closer to POD 1, so those in POD 1 camping area are more likely to help in VIP. we'll see

got my acceptance! deposit submitted! can't wait to find out my c'roo!
[Update] got my crew assignment within like an hour of submitting my deposit! My friend and I are doing tollbooths. Hopefully we get the better of the shifts, and our newbie friend gets to work with us
Just got my response back and I'm parking. I applied for pre feet and did it last year. Pretty upset I didn't get it. How much of the fest will I miss? I know we get done before Friday but can we get done earlier?
I just got approved for Artist Hospitality and Logistics. Looking forward to it! See you at the farm
Congrats Amber, I know that is the one you wanted. Just sent my deposit in. I'll notr be able to sleep tonight till I find out where I'm working! My ID was #36, if that means anything.

Keep your fingers crossed. Someone may get pre and can't make it and would swap with ya. We got to put 5 shows we would rather not miss. I've vol'd 3 other times and not missed any fav's.
After a few days of lurking and much reading, I believe I will make my first ever trip to Bonnaroo. What better way to enjoy my first ever camping music festival, than be volunteering in the Volunteer State (my former and future home). According to what I've read in this thread, it sounds like new vol apps will begin being accepted on Monday? I plan on filling out the app and paying the $25 fee ASAP. I've wanted to attend for years and just never did it. I believe a mid-life crisis may be kicking in........
Nothing wrong with a mid-life crisis, I've had one evry year since I turned 45.
