No shit, the people complaining probably won't go. It's a lineup thread. If I have a problem why am I stupid for saying my opinion? I never understand lineup drop threads with "if you don't like it stay home" comments.

[quote author="umphursmcgur" source="/post/1250367/thread" timestamp="1361305806"Umphreys is my favorite band. Them and phish on the initial lineup sold me more than anything. I admit I have not seem petty, I just never see his name like I do dmb, but even still that's not saying much considering how dmb plays these days. I understand, jam bands are a lagging scene right now what with high fuel prices and popular electronic music being a bag on their scene at the moment. So cut the jam headliner, cool, throw in two b tier jam bands to make up for it. Yonder? Moe? Lotus? Sts9? The list goes on and on. I'd count mmj just as I count dmb (I like both those bands a lot).
I could believe dead family having a resentment to roo. Doesn't seem too far fetched. I just feel like that slight jam feel is what made bonnaroo special and unique from Lolla and coachella. Why get rid of it?[/quote] While I'm a bit sad to see the jam heavily downplayed this year, there are other jam festivals it still feels like a very unique line-up for other reasons. R. Kelly is doing Pitchfork, but that's still a daring and exciting choice, IMO. Where else is Swans playing? John McLaughlin, Sam Bush/Del McCoury and the fucking Superjams are all pretty great snags as well. Add in the smaller names (like Bernhoft) and I think it shapes up to be pretty special.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

I agree with George - for some reason I cannot get into Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, or Of Monsters and Men, but I love Edward Sharpe haha. I agree they are goofy but there's just something about them that I like. But seriously, where the hell is Vampire Weekend and Cut Copy?!
There has been a deficit for the past few years, IMO. METZ or Fucekd Up would make great adds, but I am not holding my breath
They usually have one big punk name on the bill, though. I'm banking on that being top line on the artist additions. REALLY hoping for Descendents. Black Flag seems fairly likely.
I was going to wait it out for the Macca pit damn near all day, but I don't think I could possibly do that to myself now.
Yeah, I was going to do the same. Even posted about it with a code word so people could come jump in line with me... I have to take that back, seeing as I doubt I can miss a bunch of these bands for the Macca pit.
Doubtful.
If it opens up and we find it possible to do the pit, a small group should be made. I would definitely be interested in making an effort for pit, or dare I say it...rail.
Holy quack I am blown away. Wilco, Love this Giant, and The National are all huge surprises for me. Just got home from work and trying to take it all in.

The hate that jam bands get on here makes no sense to me. I'd like to think he majority of us are "music" fans. So how can you dislike every jam band? What is so awful about it? I don't really understand...

I'll probably check out a bit of bjork, depending on the schedule.
I respect the hell out of her as a music producer but her voice throws me off. It'll be a spectacle, that's for sure. I just want to catch some of the heavy electronic grooves from her set and then dip.
Where does everyone expect Wilco to be placed? Which Stage closer? Is Thursday night a possibility?
Doubt it. I predict they will get a 7:30 PM spot on What... leading into Paul McCartney. If not then, I would guess a Which Stage closer on Sunday. Wilco is always the bridesmaid, never the bride. They've been pre-headliner three times now.
Does Tom Petty close the festival? Seems a bit of a let down to me. Wilco feels like a better fit to me, they play long sets and have a deep catalog with lots of cover options. I'd personally love to see them close the festival, but don't know if they are "big" enough.
