As excited as I am about Arcade Fire, I'm anticipating a song or two that annoys me. Psychic is near perfect. Beautiful Rewind didn't hit me the same way, so I have just been obsessively playing Psychic over and over. I do owe Four Tet some more spins.
I don't know how anything is going to beat out Darkside's Psychic, but I will refrain from voting so I don't get scolded.
For me it was a tough call between this and Four Tet. Gotta give the nod to Four Tet though.
Yeah - for me it's currently fourth behind Four Tet, OPN, and Tim Hecker right now. Could change in the next two weeks though and we still have that little thing from Arcade Fire coming.
There are a few good songs. Realistically they would need to cut 60% of the songs out and replace a couple with those bonus tracks for it to be a good (or better) ablum.
I know I've been promoting the s**t out of this album on the boards already but Black Milk -- No Poison No Paradise is my album of the month already. Definitely some Dilla/Apollo Brown shout outs in his work, but overall its just a Detroit do-it-all who knows how to go crate digging.
My Name is My Name has surprise me thus far -- while Pusha T is sticking to the subject line his flow is still better than half of what's out there. The Numbers on the Boards beat is incredibly inventive, and Nosetalgia is a total anthem.
Honorable mention to the Return of Deltron 3030, Dan the Automator is a legend.
They are touring with TV Ghost right now. Check out their new album that also came out in September.
Funny you mention that. I had not heard of TV Ghost until last week, when I heard a song from their newest album. Liked it so much, it prompted me to discover their two previous albums as well.
Just found out they are the opener for the Holograms show I am going to. It's the whole reason you brought them up, and I forgot about that. lol

I'm listening to The Stargazer Lilies "We Are the Dreamers" and I'm only a few tracks in. This shiz is epic and beautiful.
I was going to post a video of the opening track, but I'm not sure if that is "cheating" or some sort of persuasion technique.
EDIT: After the first few tracks, the album is still pretty awesome, but it gets repetitive. Would definitely like to trance out to this album later. I highly recommend "We Are the Dreamers" and "Del Ray Mar"
Darkside - Psychic My vote. Reflektor just isn't there for me yet. I've given it plenty of oppertunity, and tho there is some great material in there, as a full album, it doesn't do it for me like Psychic does.

I never thought that I would like an Arcade Fire album, but I love Reflektor. I don't know if you remember, but I actually did quite a bit of hating on this band in my tenure here.
