You know, hopefully I'm wrong about all this and he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. His stats this year were 4952 yards, 33 pass TD, 1 rush TD, 17 INT, and 3 fumbles. The last time he had stats that low were in 2010 after the Super Bowl with 4620 yards, 33 pass TD, 0 rush TD, 22 INT, and 0 fumbles. He followed it in 2011 by having his best year ever with 5476 yards, 46 pass TD, 1 rush TD, 14 INT, and 1 fumble.
So maybe he will have another outstanding comeback year? Then again, he was only 32 and it was a contract year in 2011.
Drew Brees' interception percentage this year was 2.6%. League average was 2.61%. He throws a shit ton so his totals are generally skewed.
If you use that logic, however, you also can negate his high total yardage, which is also below his average this year despite all the garbage time passing.
Eh, he was still 9th in the league in Adjusted Net Yards/Attempt, which includes yards/touchdowns/INTs/times sacked. Sandwiched between Brady and Wilson, and you hear nothing but praise for those guys.
Actually it was a flippant and mostly sarcastic remark about the phenomenon known as a comeback year, which was followed by a reference to it being a contract year and Brees being four years older next year than in 2011

Does Adjusted Net Yards/Attempt factor in garbage time yardage though? Brady and Wilson almost never play from behind. Making big gains at the end of games seems like it would pad that statistic, but I might be wrong because I'm not very familiar with it.
I'm trying to stay positive, but I am not seeing what everybody else is for the Bengal/Colts game. I was a few days ago, but with Green being all but out for Sunday changes things drastically. If Green is out then the Colts would be dumb not to just stack the box on Hill and dare Dalton to try and make plays. BetOnline still has the spread at -3 for Indy as do some Vegas sport-books. The ESPN analysts are split on the game as well, but those predications prob came in before Green was listed as doubtful.
I also think a lot of things are falling in place for the Ravens tomorrow night. Suppose to rain all throughout the game, which could limit Big Ben. Steelers are already going to be missing Bell. Pittsburgh has also had a shorter turnaround this week and is coming off a division game...the Ravens are coming off a game against the Jags.

I've rooted for the panthers since a couple of years into their existence, and I'm torn but excited about the playoffs. I just wish they could bring their December ball a little earlier, they should have owned this season with a better approach to their first game with the dirty birds and then the Bengals debacle.
Anyways, I've got my KB home jersey on this morning and will be excited when 4:20 finally rolls around :-)

I wish they didn't accept that penalty on Carolina after the field goal. All it did was take off five seconds. That would've been enough time to get a play in maybe get 20 yards closer and then have an actually realistic shot at getting in the end zone before half.
Panthers-Cards and Colts-Bengals is precisely why there should be less teams in the playoffs, not more
I think the playoff format is the best we're gonna get. If we put more in, we get shitty games. If we put less in, we'll never have another one of those 2011 Giants Super Bowl wins and those are the best.
Panthers, Bengals, and Cards are just so shitty. Colts nothing special either. Have they beaten a single team with a winning record this year? (E: they are 4-5 vs teams with a winning record)
Obviously Cards earned a playoff spot but without Ellington and Palmer they are absolute garbage.
He may be young, but he knows how to blame the refs like a champion.
I don't like to blame the refs, but this is pathetic. Missed PI against Floyd, awful PI call against Jefferson, missed a hold/pin down on Foote on that Cam Newton "first down" run, and missed two hold on that Whittaker TD. I'm sure there are more I forgot.

We'll give you the PI call against Jefferson
In the end, the Cardinals offense sucked so badly - no call by the refs would have saved them.
