Great win by my Clemon Tigers over yet another SEC Power. We are now the first non SEC team to beat 2 top 10 SEC teams in consecutive games. Also for the 2nd game in a row we had an SEC defense faking injuries, because it was the only way to slow us down. It's time for the perception of this program to change. From now on Clemson pulling a Clemson is coming through and beating the best teams in College Football. Our offense played great as expected, but we didn't even do it the way I expected. I expected lots of deep passes down field and I don't believe we hit one at all. Our running game was impressive, didn't expect it to be that good. Tajh Boyd outplayed Aaron Murray and he didn't even play his best in the game. He still accounted for 5 TD's and over 300 yds. Let the Heisman watch begin. Sammy Watkins is best mode, he's a lot bigger and able to take hits better than he could in the past. He will have a huge year. Our defense gave up a lot to a great UGA offense. They made just enough stops to get the job done. I don't believe we ever got beat deep either, which is encouraging. This should be a great year, hope we don't slip up with any of the teams we're supposed to beat. The next real challenge doesn't come until FSU and there are lots of games before then. UGA is a great team and they may not lose another game in the regular season. That offense is near unstoppable. Todd Gurley is the best of beasts and Marshall isn't too bad himself.
What the f*ck? Am I drunk or was sang almost gracious in his victory? What did you do to him, custeph?
I will agree with what you said about Clemson's offense being in high gear. Georgia's defense was young but seemed to hold up as well as could be expected given the circumstances. Watkins was back on track for this game at least, and your running back (whose name escapes me) didn't do too bad himself. Like I said before the game, Clemson's offense will be a sight to behold if someone steps up in the running game, and it looks like that has happened. Your defense looked better than expected. The d-line did a pretty great job especially in that middle section of the game.
My two responses to points you made are 1) Pulling a Clemson refers to collapsing in games they should win. In order to get past that title, they are going to have to run through the weak games on their schedule without a hiccup. Beating Georgia was impressive but doesn't do anything to erase that label. Trust me. I know about having a college team with labels that haunt them.
2) I also do not think you got beat on a deep pass, but you did give up the one long touchdown run to Gurley. Not that it is embarassing to have that guy run on you, but you were asking about home run plays.
I respect UGA. I honestly didn't know if we could beat them or not. but the game went pretty much exactly as I expected, back and forth score fest. and I knew the defense that stepped up would be the deciding factor. also didn't hurt that they botched that FG. as far as the percption thing goes, things have obviously changed. last year we not only beat, we destroyed the teams that we were supposed to beat. but what's really changed is the last 2 games. this team has turned the corner. the big games have a completely different feel and we have proven we can win them.

We shall see. It's a long season and only one game is in the books, but they did well so far.
On another subject, I don't give a sh*t if it was against a third rate FCS team. 45-0 gets me excited.

it's always good when you handle those teams like you're supposed to.

Yeah, Dooley beat UT-Martin 50-0, so it's not time to start changing predictions for the season or anything. There were good things to take from it. 10 different players had receptions. The 1 and 2 QB's got some snaps. We got a couple of INTs. In addition to that, the biggest thing for me out of that game is that Tennessee had 0 penalties for the entire game which is always nice.
lol of the week- The Bulldogs lost last year's second leading receiver Malcolm Mitchell to a knee injury early in the game when he celebrated Gurley's scoring run, according to Richt.
“Y’all need to start writing something different. Asking different questions. The bottom line is this: this program has been as consistent as any program in college football. There have been six teams that have been ranked the last 30 weeks in a row. Only six.
How come we don’t say anything about that? The only ones on the list are LSU, Alabama, Oregon, South Carolina, Stanford and Clemson. There are a lot of great programs on that list. Why not write about them? Clemson has been as consistent as anyone in the country. Other teams haven’t won it all either. You’re bringing up something that happened five years ago. Move on. Write a different story line.”

You're so happy you were able to locate the shift key for the first time.
also it is a really bad idea to have your team meet us at the bottom of the hill. that's a great way to pump everyone up even more.
I caught the tail end of that yesterday, tuned in just as they were starting to run down the field. Having seen the whole thing, it looks really cool. I haven't seen anything like that before, certainly not in person anyway, with a crowd that massive just so energetic and electric like that. Is that normal, or was it just because it's the first game of the year and against such a big name opponent like that?
I'm not gonna lie - if I had the money, I'd go to some college football games down south and Clemson would probably be high up on the list now.

that's every game.
Yeah, it's really surprising how crowds maintain intensity like that even for lesser opponents. I went to a Vanderbilt game one year during the midst of them being just terrible. The crowd still exploded when the team ran the T.
for anyone that is thinking about experiencing a game at Clemson, I just bought Upper Deck tix for the FSU game Oct. 19. so they're still available right now, but won't be for long.
^^^ That's a bit of a surprise it hasn't sold out, considering that'll be the top matchup in the ACC this year and both teams should be undefeated going into it.
Because it hasn't been mentioned... Cardinals rolled all over Ohio. Bridgewater looked fantastic w/ 5 TDs
It will be very interesting to see how the RB position shakes out between Perry, Dyer, and Brown. Dyer looked as good as advertised in the few carries he had yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised to see him take over the starting job in the next few games.

Oh the AP. It's a magical place where the #19 team can get the sh*t kicked out of them and retain a spot in the top 25 while the team that beat them (which was #34) is still unranked.
Ive seen Clemson's intro before but not from this perspective.
I absolutely love this video. I think everyone who loves college football should try to make it to Clemson to witness it in person. And we've had a lot of fun watching this video. At 4:10/11, you can see my son & his buddy on the right side of the buses waiting to greet the team as they get off the buses. Fun stuff!!

we're going to benefit big time from that. Morris said they got phone calls from recruits all over the country saying Clemson is at the top of their list after viewing the Georgia game and especially the hill entrance.

Yeah, you really can't overestimate those intangible things for pulling in recruits. It's always good to win in a high profile game on tv, but a ton of recruits buy into traditions and being a part of hyped fanbase like that. Dooley started the Vol 4 Life program, but Jones is really running it to perfection. A few of the better recruits we have got this year are the sons of great players, and selling that your UT experience will extend your entire life really helped sway them.
I live in a house full of FSU peeps, so tonight is a big night for football. My college team (Winthrop University) doesn't play football so I don't tend to get into the college football scene too too much. Anyway, I'm trying to read and all I hear from upstairs is "JAY-BOOOOO!" in some sort of loud excited voices. Went to check it out, and it looks like FSU has a surgeon running the team now. Can't wait to see what the second half looks like!
