I have been trying to keep calm all half. There is still a lot of football to play. Also, ESPN has been telling me all game that Clowney is actually winning this game instead of SC or UT.
That hit that got the safety from South Carolina ejected was complete poo poo. A flag, sure, but ejection, no way. The way the rule reads doesn't give the official much ground so that's why it happened, but for Heaven's sake, that's football. As a orange-blooded UT fan, I am saying that the rule will be modified next year. There have been three secondary players in the SEC who have been ejected today and it's 2:00 Eastern. Haven't seen the other hits yet, but come on.

The one in the Georgia game was a complete embarrassment to refereeing...

Now that my heart rate is below 100, the more rational part of my brain is especially pleased with this because now with the victory, Tennessee only has to win two more games in order to be bowl eligible. This is great news considering how Auburn and Missouri have came on this year.
It's incredible how deep the SEC is. Even the bottom-rung teams like Tennessee and Vandy can compete with the big guys. No other conference like it...
Thanks for the backhanded compliment. Although, in recent years, I'll have to admit that you're right. TN has been bottom-rung. It's easier to admit that now that the future isn't so dark. We may just have our guy. Finally.
Also, in the gif, notice the ghost of Derek Dooley leave the screen. It then left the stadium and entered the atmosphere.

The SEC has way more ranked teams (8 to 4). But there's plenty of quality to be found just outside the top 25. Oregon State would be undefeated and in the top 15 right now, if not for that shocking last minute loss to Eastern Washington. Assuming the winning keeps going, they should be back soon.
10 of the 12 teams in the Pac 12 are over .500 right now - only Cal is below it. Wazzu will most likely be at .500 after tonight, and Colorado just got there.
10 of the 14 teams in the SEC are over .500 - Ole Miss and MS State are at .500, only Arkansas and Kentucky are under.
Even perennial cupcakes are improving, like Colorado and Wazzu. Colorado has already matched its win total from last year. Wazzu is already above it. They were within a touchdown of Auburn and beat USC. The only real pushovers are Cal and Kentucky, and Cal is more likely to pick some decent team off than Kentucky.
Here are some hypothetical contests. How do you honestly think they would play out?
1. Alabama vs. Oregon 2. Texas A&M vs. Stanford 3. LSU vs. UCLA 4. Missouri vs. Washington 5. Georgia vs. Utah 6. South Carolina vs. Arizona State 7. Auburn vs. Oregon State 8. Florida vs. USC 9. Tennessee vs. Arizona 10. Arkansas/Vanderbilt vs. Washington St. 11. Either MS school vs. Colorado 12. Kentucky vs. Cal
"Junior quarterback Michael Nebrich completed 19 of 26 for 421 yards with four touchdowns to junior Sam Ajala. Ajala set a program record for receiving touchdowns, and he had 282 yards on 10 catches. Nebrich also rushed for a score."
That's a 22 yards per completion average for Nebrich.
I'm incredibly impressed with UT's improvement over the course of this season, which is the opposite of what took place during the previous regime. I am not fooling myself into expecting anything other than being handled by Bama next week, but I now at least have a glimmer of hope. "One time." - Danny O'Shea
Good game Dave and UT fans. Glad that kept you watching the debacle we were experiencing over in Columbia. Our progression as a team is going in reverse.
At least this late game is giving me some pleasure. Kerbbie just said,"he is not gonna wow you when he pulls out of there..."

This completely. The emotional part of me wants to believe we stand some shot against Bama next week. The rational part of me is just content that this was a step forward rather than back.
That scoreboard from Death Valley is freaking me out and I'm not even at the game. It's so damn bright they don't even have to show it, the field changes color on the TV whenever it flashes. I can't imagine how disorienting that might be if you're actually in the stands.
Also, this Joyner dude is a monster. Joyner and Kelvin Benjamin have been fun to watch so far. Lets see how Clemson responds.
