So I don't know much about this band as far as members and all that hooplah but I reallyyyy dig this band. I found on their band camp page they describe themselves as "8 friends from Los Angeles who are making music with love, and making love with music." Unfortunately they got put right in the middle of the Sunday clusterfuck. I will try to see these guys if they come around PA at any point though. They're just super happy and fun to dance and have those lame but awesome sing along chorus's. Anyway check them out, and if for some reason you can't find anything else to watch on Sunday afternoon I bet they have a hell of a fun show.
I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG!!! ^^^^^^^^^^ Its slower but super intense at the end.
I'm curious to what other people think of these guys so let me know if you check them out!!
I actually love the Mowgli's. Another great song by them is "Time." They are in one of the few scheduling conflicts that I have. If I remember right, they are on at the same time as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes. It's unfortunate but I am probably going to have to go with Edward Sharpe on that one.

See I thought people might say that. I know its like the typical "wish they were folk" music. But idk, something about them draws me in. Maybe its the happiness of all their stuff. I just think its a lot of fun. I watched a live show of them to and they were actually pretty good live so idk. I am bummed I'm missing them though
This is like everything that went wrong with music in the past 5 years, cheery festival bands for bros/broettes in facepaint/feathers/fedoras.
and I must say, if you see me at Roo wearing facepaint/feathers/and or fedoras....I give you permission to walk up to me and punch me right in the face

This reminds me of the scene-metal kids whenever a previously underground band went large in the '90s. The only difference is, there is a span between being punk and being folk-pop. They've sold pink hairspray at the mall for a generation now. Anyone who didn't think that grassroots would be put through a pop simulator has no grasp on social dynamics. I'll immediately write up The Mowglis the same as I would The Lumineers, maybe even Nicki Bluhm and her fun, van-loving rascals: A good set of chords and a good pop hook will take you far. Some acts do it for fame and a cash basket, others for the glory of making a 4-minute piece of take-you-to-heaven because it feels oh-so-good to deliver it on stage. What is your take on the Beatles? The line between feeling and money I speak of, they created -- well, at least as far as modern music will take us. They nourished it like a flower and those who follow suit are imitations of what? Great music? Even Tame Impala mesh away from a gnarly groove and throw a hook at you. Grizzly Bear? roar. There is so much good pop bubblegum that has roots in the Haight district. Don't hate. Cheery festival bands make a cheery festival. What, exactly, do you want? And, really, what do you deserve?
I think San Francisco was track of the week on Pitchfork a while back, if I recall correctly. I like the upbeatness of their music. I decided I would see them and go to The National afterward. The National, Edward Sharpe, and Tame Impala were almost equally tied for me, but The National allows me to see these guys.
