Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I have a real good friend who lives in Cleveland and I find myself visiting her quite a bit (I'm from across the border in PA). I know a lot of major cities have free concerts during the spring/summer/fall in the form of concerts in the parks, block parties, campus concerts, etc. Can anyone from Cleveland point me in the right direction of any place where I might find free shows (and I'm not interested in cover bands; if I wanted that, I'd go to Bonnaroo late night).
Thanks for any help. I already have a pretty good list of free shows to catch in Pittsburgh this summer (Edward Sharpe, Bob Mould, Langhorne Slim, Glen Hansard, Brett Dennen), and I would love to try to find some fun events going on in the Cleveland area.
Summer in the City Concert Series hosted by the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame featuring Cloud Nothings (!), Torche, Bear in Heaven (!), and Sharon Van Etten (!). Wish I'd have known about that last year!

Yeah, the summer Rock Hall sessions is where I was going to point you, and have been annual, thus far. 2011 had Das Racist, Deerhunter, Joy Formidable, and Fitz and the Tantrums. 2010 featured Carolina Chocolate Drops, Deer Tick, and I think Sharon Jones. 2009 had Akron/Family, Chairlift and The Black Swans. GREEEEAAAT artists each year. The rest that I know of primarily feature cover bands, unfortunately. Rockin On the River in Cuyahoga Falls and the Lock 3 series in Akron.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Thanks for the information! It's good to know where to look; I'll be sure to keep checking the Hall of Fame website because the bands you listed are great as well.
I had to give her a hard time because the university she's in grad. school at brought in Kendrick Lamar and Steve Aoki for a free show, and she had no idea. I found out after the fact, and had to let her know.

I went to and live near said university and didn't know about it until afterwards :/
I also had no idea about the Rock Hall stuff! Good, free music is kind of hard to come by in Cleveland. Cain Park has GREAT concerts, but, alas, they're not free.
