Did you see his show at Gov Ball? They had a 20-25 foot steel, luminated staircase. I don't think they built that thing for use on just that concert.
I actually couldnt see it that well from the shaky handcam videos but didnt he have a pretty crazy setup for coachella in 2011 he never really used again
Umm, if memory serves, he had a huuuuge screen or something as a backdrop, but only a small metal stand that extended, but nothing like what they had at Gov Ball. I was about 30 feet from the stage for that Ye set at GB and the staircase was enormous, so if you saw it I think you'd certainly remember it.
Incubus would maybe close Which, but definitely aren't a headliner band. For next year, I'd say we're working with these:
Prince (please please please please please) Daft Punk (if they tour, and the real answer is we don't know one way or another) Pearl Jam (been since 6 years) Phish (why not?) Mumford & Sons (probably a lock, unless they simply aren't touring or an unknown reason) The Black Keys (it may be too soon, but they'd be welcome and are working on a new album) Kanye West (I question if they'd have him back) Neil Young + Crazy Horse (will be at Interlocken in September, so definitely will do isolated dates) Jack White (please!) Widespread Panic (obviously always a possibility, I'd prefer if they do to have Fogerty sit in ala Interlocken) My Morning Jacket (not sure if they'd headline or be LN Which but I want them anyway I can get them) Furthur (it's been forever since we've seen the Dead on the Farm) Dave Matthews Band (always possible, but meh) Zac Brown Band (definitely popular enough, country-jam friendly, hasn't headlined yet but played twice) Muse (are they touring though?) Coldplay (no idea if they're touring, but always a possibility as they haven't yet) Foo Fighters (same as above) Rage Against the Machine (probably inactive, but MY GOD I WANT THIS) Eric Clapton (probably not, but it makes sense) The Cure (I'd cream my pants) Nine Inch Nails (Not sure where they'd play. LN Which again maybe?) Depeche Mode (headlining ACL this year, but I see more of a LN Which) Black Sabbath (if they're still touring in the U.S.) The Killers (headlining Lolla, so who knows) Phoenix (I don't see them headlining, but more in the MMJ or Black Keys slot from 2011)
I don't see Vampire Weekend as a headliner yet. Maybe I'm just out of touch with how popular they are, but I see them in the MMJ or Black Keys slot from 2011 where they're more than a pre-headliner but not the main act that night on What. Ideally, I'd like to see Vampire Weekend (8-9:30) -> Prince or Daft Punk (10:30-12:30).

Just some 2 cents: I think Jack White is trying to moderate his Bonnaroo exposure. Couple years back there were like five Third Man bands at Bonnaroo, but I suspect he doesn't want to put all his eggs in that basket - nor should he, IMO, just because he lives an hour away. Same issue could eventually affect Black Keys.
I'm thinking KoL for sure. They're Bonnaroo staples and I hear they're all finally out of rehab.
Prince: oh please Jebus. I just saw him play a small club date in SoCal and his new all-female band is pretty great.
Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury and rumor is they're doing some US fall dates. Could this be extended into next year if enough piles of cash were distributed? Saw them on the same SoCal run and Mick still has it, if they can just prop Keith and Ronnie up with something sturdy it should be a go.
Would love Sabbath as well. Springsteen again? Too soon? Rush, maybe? Not a fan of Mumfords so hopefully something else will be on offer. (Nothing personal, just IMO all their songs sound the same and I'm sick to death of them...)
