The National, I try, really I try but just don't get it.
You are way too cheerful a person for The National.
Idk about that as a notion though. That happy people listen to happy music, sad people to sad music. I'm pretty fucking cheerful and predominantly listening to very depressing music. It balances out!
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Ha. I agree. I'm just trying to make an excuse so I don't hold it against her.
Foo Fighters is one for me as well. I will be seeing them at ACL, but similarly with Pearl Jam, I'll probably only go watch because I feel like I should. Pearl Jam last year was fantastic live and though I wouldn't say I'm a big fan or anything (sorry PorchRadio) I can't say I don't like them. Like many have said, a live show can really change my mind on a band.
Foo Fighters....I just don't get it. I've been to the shows other people have said have been the best ever. The blank stares into the crowd and the gum chewing. People connect with that shit?
Not to post a generic hipster comment, but... anything after their first 2 albums isn't very good. If I could see them where they just played songs off those 2 albums I would go.

Ehh, just see what you wanna see. Pearl Jam is one of those bands I rarely listen to on record, but that really shine live; I've heard the same thing about the Foos.
Although I just saw an article on CoS that kinda shits me. Dave was making fun of newer bands that only play an hour - and I'm like, dude, not every band has 25 years of material to draw from, okay? Some newer bands give their all in an hour, while other vets just noodle on for three. You were there once too, if you'll recall. Haters gon' hate.

I can't get into Chrvches either. I feel the same way about Lauren Mayberry's voice as crazykittensmile does about the girl from Purity Ring. I occasionally enjoy Purity Ring though. The synths have seemed overdone for my tastes the few times I've listened to Chvrches. I also can't get into Schoolboy Q the few times I've tried and probably haven't given Coheed and Cambria a fair chance. So, I'm screwed as far as headlining acts go for Friday at Fun Fun Fun.

The only Coheed & Cambria album that matters is Second Stage Turbine Blade. Id be really surprised if they play anything off of it live anymore, though.

I'm not a huge fan but I thought "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth" and "Good Apollo 1" were good records.

In Keeping Secrets is pretty good. The production quality is definitely better than Second Stage.
Holy shit, I just looked at their discography on Spotify. Did not know they've release that many albums since Good Apollo. are they even still telling the story of Coheed and Cambria or is that finished?

You and I have equal amounts of knowledge on this. I also had to refer to their discography to remember those album names and was surprised to see how many records they have.

I believe they are done with that story. I could be wrong. I haven't followed too closely since Good Apollo and even during Good Apollo I was kind of done with them. But, I still somewhat enjoy their new/er stuff.

I just read an article about this - Coheed's new album, The Color Before the Sun, is the first album not about the Amory Wars story. It was released on Oct 16th. That is a huge amount of time for one band to stick with one concept.

Those three are all tied for first place. I can't choose.

I'm going to see coheed and Cambria tomorrow and I know nothing about them. I've heard 5 of their songs when I went with my wife to see them at bonnaroo in 2009(?)

You knew far more about them going in than I know now. How was the show?
