Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
You take your dirty lies and you get out of here. You GET. THE HELL. OUTTA. HERE!
Seriously though recent bands I don't find enjoyable are as follows:
1. Macklemore
2. Lumineers
3. Passion Pit
4. Death Grips
Honorable mention goes to Wilco. I like slower music so that's not the issue but I don't know if I have found the right album or what yet but it just hasn't been getting me. I would of liked to check them out at Bonnaroo but didn't get a chance to. I am open to suggestions on this to be swayed
I agree with all of these. But with Wilco, you can go straight to hell!!!
Other groups I loathe include the previously mentioned Mumford and Sons, and wait for it......
Tom Waits.
I respect his talent. He's got some good tunes here and there and his songwriting is top notch. I just can't ever see myself being in the mood to sit through a whole Tom Waits album. I just can't.
People that hate The National probably weren't hugged enough as children. Or maybe they were hugged too much. I dunno, but it makes me sad, cause they're easily one of my favorites.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

^ QFT.
I used to wonder how (or WHY?!?) people couldn't love this band...then I realized that just leaves more room at their shows for those of us who *do* love 'em. Win/win.
Tom Waits: he's one of those artists I'd like to love more. His music is like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan cocktail: it's not a "goes-with-every-meal" kinda drink, but when you're in the right mood it just hits the spot. Maybe it's good I don't love Tom Waits more: my liver probably couldn't handle the abuse...

Duuuude, ouch! Having had my face melted by Wilco last night (daaaamn, they covered a Beatles song w/Bob Weir?!?), this quackin' hurts.
No worries. Wilco's a grower for some folks. (Paging SupeЯfuЯЯyanimal!) There's a thread somewhere in here where SFA (or maybe Whoreshack & GL?) rank their albums according by style (some are more alt/country like A.M.; some are more pop like Wilco the Album & Summerteeth) so you can figure out where to start.
Tee-Hee. We have a couple of pop princesses in the house then.

We can all like different things as long as we all agree on one thing musically, that Nickleback is the 100% worst band to ever exsist.
It's a 3 way tie IMO. Default is a terrible band with a terrible name. Like, are you even trying to come up with anything closely resembling creativity? Nickelback, although their music is completely terrible at least they gave it a shot at coming up with a somewhat decent band name. They failed, but I give them points on the attempt. Black Eyed Peas might be the worst thing god has ever created since Fergie joined them. But they aren't a band, so I'm not sure where that leaves us.
Also would like to defend my Tom Waits criticism. I get that he's mood music. I'm just never in the mood. I actually think he's a better actor than musical artist. *ducks*
I guess I dislike that it's all a giant act. Not even an ounce of sincerity in the whole thing.
He seems pretty damn sincere when he interacts with the crowd. It's not the same shtick at every gig, so I def have to disagree with this. They are a bunch of space cadets and their albums might not be the best, but they are pure gold with a festival crowd.

I'm talking more about the fact that he went from being an emo scenester king kinda guy in IMA Robot and suddenly changed into this hippie commune leader. I just don't buy it.

It is a persona he's taken on. Whether it's genuine or just an act to sell records, I have no idea. I tend to think it's something he's truly embraced. It'd be hard to fake something like that for this long without coming off like a phony more often.

I always hear people say they don't like Ed Sharpe and the magnetic Zeroes because of their faux hippie image. I personally have no opinion on that since I've never seen them live. The few songs I've heard by them sound alright. It's true people do go through changes , so it's very possible he did embrace this lifestyle he displays now. There was a joke the last time they played Roo that someone saw Alex at one of the exits after their performance trying to hitch a ride to a hotel room for some AC and a shower.
I will stick within the realm of genre's I like (I'm not going to randomly crap on new country artists I've never listened to) and artists I have tried repeatedly to find some enjoyment with.
That being said, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Rush, the NA dubstep movement of the last few years, Tiesto, Kid Rock, Creed/Nickelback/Theory of a Deadman (and anyone else who road the coattails of Pearl Jam to popularity), Pulp, Joni Mitchell... I could go on at length but that' probably enough to stir up some Shining hatred on the boards
