There is no slant or shift. I claimed this is a horrible diss track with thorough reasoning. And you tried to provide some air cover by saying this should be compared to Infared. You clearly said that to insinuate that this shouldn't be judged at the real deal. Its just the preamble. Just as Infared was the preamble to Adidon.
The reason I haven't seen anyone else across the internet say that or buy that is because its a 6 minute direct diss track to Drake. It is actually less of a preamble than Adidon was. It's only because its so much worse that it feels like it isn't.
I also have not met another human that isn't painfully aware that the sparking event of this whole "hip hop civil war" was Like That. And Drake did his first full response to it the same way he did his first full response to Infared. My argument here is pretty crystal clear regarding the timeline and where we are at in the process.
But none of that is as important as: this Euphoria song should be fully judged as a real, thoughtful diss track, not a build up song. This is fully on Kendricks resume. This isn't a mixtape to an album where its like "ahh that doesnt really count." That is the only important thing I'm taking issue with here.
I’d just like to point out that I haven’t seen anyone else with your negative opinion of the track. I see a lot of hip hop talk on my twitter because of Dead End Hip Hop and others. All I see is people quoting it and loving it and laughing at Drake.
oh Im fully aware. What youre saying here isnt 100% accurate. But Im all too familiar with people pretending to enjoy anything and everything Kendrick does (jk).
Lost In Vegas Youtube channel has a pretty good breakdown that is closer to my opinion but still nowhere near as harsh as me and they think Kendrick is slightly winning. I also havent met anyone in real life that thinks its great. But Yes - Ive seen all the reactions going crazy to the ghostwriting line and such.
I mean, there's been plenty of people who love it but plenty of others who didn't too. Many on social media have strong views either way.
Personally I think Kendrick is a thousand times better rapper than Drake and bar for bar there isn't really a comparison. With that said, I thought the track was pretty 'eh.' Maybe its cause of the standards/expectations placed on Kendrick but I didn't think it was all that great. I'm sure I'm in the minority but my fav song so far in this whole thing has been 7 Min Drill. Not for the diss aspect itself, just as an overall track.
New God Flow was also an anti-YMCMB diss track, right? Drake was part of that. So it goes back at least that far.
it truly goes back to some sort of issue Clipse had with Birdman in the early 2000s. There was some drama surrounding the somg what happened to that boy. Then supposedly Mr. Me Too was actually about wayne stealing their Bape style and stuff. Then the Pusha Song Exodus had lines about them as well.

Yeah I think Drake was kind of catching strays there. But when Push said "line them all up like 1, 2, 3" the interpretation was that 1 and 2 were Birdman and Wayne and the 3 was Drake.

Exodus and New God Flow both came out 2012. Actually couldnt quickly find Exodus specific date, but either way nobody can confuse this: Duppy and Adidon wouldnt have happened, and didnt happen on the back of those songs 5 years prior. Most timelines without infared result In no duppy and no infared, just like without Like That you dont get Euphoria and Push Ups.
Frankly if these disses don't have anything to say about the Diddy sex trafficking ring they just seem like a distraction from said sex trafficking ring.
Kendrick actually sounds like a good rapper on this one, and its an enjoyable song to listen to. Doesnt say as much, but still a good little chess move.
I saw a dude on Tiktok say that Kendrick is being asked by execs not to go too hard on Drake because they're still making money off of Drake and don't want Kendrick to end his career. Amazing thing that someone could actually think, like any of this is of any actual consequence.
Generational hating this is one for the history books Kendrick won’t let up:
banger. He completely destroyed drake this weekend. Not that we need anything more, but it would be so hype if he dropped a Not Like Is remix today featuring Pusha T. Dont even list the feature.
But yeah that a minorrrrrrrrr line going into the they not like us is the dagger for me. So crazy
I think Drake is putting up a really respectable fight. I think he’s missing a knockout and Kendrick has the edge but I’m not sure there’s a clear winner.

drake needs to drop a bop tomorrow and go back on offense.

idk if he actually successfully baited kendrick into using false info wouldn’t he have been all over it right when meet the grahams dropped? or have that documented? seems off

I think extreme claims require big evidence. Burden of proof is on Kendrick imo.
I have other friends saying what you said here, but we dont know why Drake would choose to save this reveal for 48 hours. He may have just wanted it to have more impact in the song.
drake put out a great song and it definitely flows and is produced way better than family matters. i would've easily given another score on the board to him if he wasn't such a dumbass.
And just like that. Story of Adidon remains the greatest diss ever. Meet the Grahams loses a lot of steam knowing drake planted the daughter story.
I really don't believe it was planted. You're telling me he filmed a whole music video crushing the GKMC van and didn't film shit about them setting up that picture from the cover of Meet the Grahams? Drake had the opportunity to absolutely win this beef by making his cover a selfie with all of the stuff laid out on the bed.
