Sad, but not surprising -- the videos from the first two stops in the tour really tell the story. Sound management was terrible and the virtual ODB/Eazy-E thing, while cool, was really what they were hinging on.
Hopefully some other production company will pick up on the hip-hop head touring festival and do it right.

Seems like they've really dropped the ball technically, and sort of forgot some of the formula that made them into a great festival.
50 Cent, Tupac and Biggie. The rest are pretty great, Lupe's couldn't be more perfect.
I think 50 Cent was actually pretty good. The Tupac and Biggie ones are tough, though. How many TV Shows are there that were undeniably among the best ever but were cut short for some reason? Deadwood? Firefly?
I also don't necessarily agree with the Simpsons/Roots one, simply because the Simpsons was/is a MASSIVE cash cow and an insanely commercially viable product from almost the moment it aired. I'd compare the Roots to something like 30 Rock or Parks & Rec, something which struggled with popularity but consistently grew until it a) had enough mainstream success to sustain itself, and b) remained true to itself while being the pinnacle of professionalism in that genre and amassed insane amounts of respect from other artists.
I'm going to spend way too much time thinking about these today.
His reason for 50 isn't terrible, but Oz was, in reality, the show that set the stage for the Sopranos. So when I put it in that context, I couldn't think about it as "50 Cent setting the stage for Rakim." If Scared Straight! was a tv series, it'd be perfect for 50.
Kendrick. Good LAWD. Seriously, holy f*cksticks did he get after it.
I honestly wonder how much longer Drake can go on pretending like Kendrick isn't just going straight at his head. Acting like this isn't sh*t only makes him look like even more of a wuss, but he has to know that if he drops some lines in response Kendrick is just going to open up even more.
Yeah, I think it's fairly obvious that Kendrick kind of detests the fact that he is seen as a contemporary of Drake's, and that Drake is still discussed before Kendrick in most mainstream circles. He's not going to rest until one of two things happens, I assume. The first being people finally acknowledge Kendrick > Drake on a mass scale, the second being Drake acknowledges the slights that Kendrick is putting out there and then Kendrick utterly destroys him for coming back at him. I'm obviously rooting for the latter to happen.
Kendrick Lamar - What can you really say bout this dude? From the bars to the delivery to the showmanship…he got it. He showin you exactly why he on top right now namsayin. I wasnt too impressed wit the last time he was on this sh*t. But he also wasnt sittin on top n callin out the entire rap game last time he was on this sh*t. I aint gon isolate no bars cuz the whole verse was fire. You in the presence of a future legend right here yo. Apparently Papoose wasnt impressed by this sh*t at all tho…so Kendrick definitely losin sleep over that. I give his sh*t a 10 tho

Black Milk's album is my favorite this year though I haven't listened to much. Really nice bounce back from some of the boring stuff he's put out since Tronic.

The Underachievers... If you haven't herd of them yet go check em out. There first mixtape Indigoism is on datpiff and it is unreal.
Not sure about real life, but they're well known on inforoo. Did you listen to their latest mixtape? I thought it was solid, but Indigoism is just dragon's breath fire.
Ya I wasn't blown away by the new mixtape but it's still got some good tracks. Indigoism was too good though. Hope they make an appearance at Roo 2014.

I have never been the biggest Eminem fan... I don't deny he is an amazing rapper...but these days I can't stand any of his songs.. I saw him in 2011 and wasn't blown away...can't believe I missed Neil for that shit. Fail of a lifetime... Plus some pricks jumped into the pit(that people wait all day to get into) right in front of us and kicked my GF in the face and gave her a bleeding nose.. haha and I blame Eminem because of all of this!
