Classic bait and switch, very limited tickets below the top tier and bam everything else 215. The tickets I was offered were in section 312. What a bunch of crap

Thanks Cindy for trying for us. I gave up after 50 minutes. I have still not received a rejection letter or an email regarding my mail order, so keeping my fingers crossed.
In the end, I am not going to be upset about this, because I got to see the Grateful Dead with Jerry many times, and nothing can beat that
So.....thanks to Longinus' newfound ticket karma, I am IN! 3 nights behind the stage! woot! Will surely watch Friday from behind the stage but I plan on roaming about. I figure a ton of people are going to jump the rail to the field so there will be something facing the stage I can find.
Shit I may jump down the the field 2nd set one night. *#wooklife
I went through a huge Dead phase for about 5 years, and I really wanted to go to this. In the end, I decided to let the 2009 show I went to in NC be my only dead show. I didn't fancy waiting in line for an hour online and have nothing to show for it. I'm hoping that there will be a high quality stream of the performances the weekend of. I'd like to stream it during the 4th of July festivities.
I'd rather just watch it from my house but it'd be cool to catch a show in a theater nearby. Phish did this for some show in 03/04 (Jones Beach I think). I lived in Auburn at the time and we drove to some theatre in Altanta to watch the simulcast. It was nuts, people smoking whatever they wanted to and dancing in the aisles and glowstick dancers and what have you. Pretty much like a show. Nothing beats being there but if a theater in town shows it I'll catch at least one show.

Ticket Swap Opportunity (sat for a fri)
Sgt. Blotter - If we don't end up needing the hotel, i'm happy to give it to someone here. You asked first so I will let you know after our group makes final decisions on where to all stay.
We have an extra ticket - obstructed View - low row side stage - for Saturday night. Looking to swap for a Friday ticket. I know we will be fine swapping once in Chicago, but would rather just have it ironed out. Thanks!
It'd be kinda cool if they set up a big screen in grant park with speakers. Would be a lot more fun than going to a theatre. However there's no $$$$$ in that, and that's no fun.

I put in for tickets for both nights. they have a few ticket tiers, and you can only choose them in groups. I picked the "bottom three" option, so my tickets (if im so lucky) could range from $59 to $99. I had to give a cc so if I am chosen they will automatically run it for whatever tier i am selected for. They are really trying to prevent the secondary market from exploding like it did for the chicago shows (though seriously, what were they expecting?)
Looks like they are using Phish's ticket lottery model for this, good for them! I hope everyone that got shut out of the Chicago clusterfuck gets in for this.
Heard a rumor that the weekend before this they will do two nights at The Mets stadium in New York.
