Totally agree the series is going to go six or seven games, probably seven. Price really does cause the Bruins a lot of trouble especially in Montreal. My point with Tampa was that with a lame fan base, they don't really have the home-ice advantage Boston, Vancouver, Chicago, or Montreal has. Since the series was so easy for them, I think the Bruins will catch them off guard in the first game.
Also, I'm not sure about Montreal, but the Bruins have one of the best away records of any NHL team. Without that lame goal at the end of the first game, we would have sweeped too. I juts hope the refs don't fuck it up too much. They are very persuaded in the Bell Centre, especially when your team likes to dive. All we have in Marchand for cheap shots.
I agree Price was snubbed for the Vezina nom. MAUAHAHA RASK!
. Well, having the best record period usually helps with that away record. I love when bruins fans use regular season stats to bolster their team. And I've never been a big believer in home ice advantage in hockey. The Bell Centre can be a negative factor for the habs, luckily, we scored first, and early in both home games so far. If Tampa scored a goal 8 seconds into the game, the life would have been sucked out of that crowd, an that gets into the heads of players. If the wings can get to a 6th game, I agree Boston catches Montreal sleeping in the first game. If Boston wins tonight, they'll still get a few days off as well.
As far as refs go, in my opinion, the game is now too fast, and there have been an influx of human error calls in the last few years. They really need to allow the video room to call down to refs, and allow more video review. Especially on plays resulting in goals. That "goaltender interference" disallowed goal should have counted, habs got a break there, but any given day, the calls can go either way. You say the habs are divers (spoken like a true Bruins fan). What you people don't seem to understand, is that when you are a fast team playing against a slower team like the bruins, the slow team needs to use hooking and grabbing to slow them down and keep up. If I'm moving my feet and making a move pass you, and all you can do to counter is use your stick to slow me down, you deserve a penalty. There is no one team who embellishes calls more than the other, it's everywhere in the game. DISCIPLINE is what teams like Boston lack. Why is it that you constantly find you're self crying "DIVERS" so often? And if you want to talk about diving, there's no more of an embarrassing example than Brad Marchand. There are hundreds of YouTube playlists of his antics out there, wanna show me a couple of any well known Habs players who like to dive?
The Price snub and Rask bump pisses me off, when you look at the type of teams playing infront of them. The habs are no where near the defensive specialists the bruins are, at least not during the season. Take Rask out of Boston, you probably still finish first in the east. Take Price out of Montreal, and the habs don't get anywhere near the playoffs.
Oh, and of course, let's hope Lucy keeps his stick to himself out there, we've got a few young players who might want to have children some day.

All your points are very well taken, especially giving referees more video review in plays resulting in goals. Also, Marchand is the only diver on our team. The radio guys I listen to (Felger and Mazz) actually hate when he does shit like that. I think he should stick to goal scoring and less embellishment.
How do you think the series will end up? It's obviously going to go six or seven games.

. I'd like it to go to game 7 overtime with the habs winning, so Bruins nation can feel what I felt a few years back.
My prediction....
Canadiens in 4
I've got a lot of bruins fans in my family who have been pestering me all day on Facebook, so I apologize if I come across as hostile. I'll save the hostilities till game day.

Be realistic...Bruins in 2. You seem like you know more about hockey than I do so I'm going to assume you weren't part of the call 911 group a year or two ago.
But really though. Bruins in 6. I feel a lot of overtime coming though. Fuck shootouts!
Edit: I like the hostility! Everyone in Boston is such a diehard it's hard to have any argument. Every girl hates me for saying Tyler Seguin sucked for our team. Buncha pink hats.

I'm thinking Bruins in 6. If it goes into Game 7, I'm gonna hate life for a little while - especially if the Habs end up winning it.
And I'd much rather have Eriksen (sp) than Seguin
He was never going to be a good fit for Boston. He doesn't fit into their mentality, he's just got Too much skill, and I don't believe he clubs his women and drags them back to his cave by their hair.
I had a dream last night that I was at a playoff game this season. It wasn't this game so I know there's another home game coming!
Now that the game is over I'll explain. My dream meant the hawks would win. There were no more home games in this series. So they must have another and now they will!
I'm still waiting for evidence, and a list of Hab players who are as notorious divers as Marchand.
Yeah, we're not always innocent either. And I'm not that much of a dick to completely ignore our own sins.
My uncle is. I've been dealing with him on Facebook for 2 weeks now. Every day it's "divers, paid the refs,, refs hate Boston, never get the calls, cheap shot habs, little guys can't play hockey" ect...ect...ect...
Because of this, I get overly defensive when talking to ANY bruins fans, cuz I'm expecting the same stupid shit. Lol
There are certainly different mentalities and philosophies on different teams, but there isn't a team in the NHL that is free of sin. Tho my uncle seems to disagree. He's a great guy, and it's all fun and games, but it certainly builds up a complex after a while.

I know it's not acceptable to question someones's hockey faith but if you blindly defend your team without admitting faults of your own team, why even discuss sports? Talking about sports should be a conversation (sometimes passionate) not chest thumping and claiming your team is the obvious best team in the world. I don't like the Bruins just because they are in Boston, I love their style of play, although it's very boring to watch in the regular season.
Also, with the Seguin thing... he'll never win a Cup unless he realizes hockey is a team game. I don't care if you score obscene amounts of goals and rack up points, if your team can't play you have nothing to show for it at the end of the year. Ovechkin was the leading goal scorer and somehow managed to have one of the worst +/- of any decent player. What's the point of having that type of player if they don't help your team win games? Hopefully he's just getting his youth rebellion stage out. Maybe he'll decide to come back to a team where the fans and media criticize him instead of hiding in Dallas.

edit: Hide in Dallas with Tim Thomas
Seguin seems to be following the path of Jason Spezza. He may take a while, but I think eventually the right coach or GM will get through to him.
If my uncle knew what a troll was, he'd be one of the greatest internet trolls in history.... If you're a habs fan anyway.

Friday night, driving down to the beach with the family for the weekend listening to the Hawks Blues game 5. We get there and its past 11pm, in overtime and its getting late for the kids. After the hours of driving, I just want to get everything out of the van and in the house as fast as I can to watch the end of the game with a beer. I am almost secretly rooting for the Hawks to not score (yet) so I can watch the end. I turned the radio off as now I am about to bring the last bags of stuff in. Couldnt have been 10 seconds after I turned it off that my nine year old who I thought went right upstairs to bed comes running out the front door screaming "YEAH!! HAWKS WIN!!! Dad! Dad! Hawks win. Toews! Captain Serious" Of course Im more happy they won than that I didnt get to see it but what a joy to have my nine year old refuse to go to bed because he wanted to watch the game and then show that level of excitement. In prior seasons, he watched because Dad watched. The combination of last years cup run, his understanding of the game and the olympics have propelled him into his own love of hockey (and our beloved Hawks). Proud dad moment. Just had to share.
almost blew that game tho. I'd be very concerned about Fleury's inconsistency.
every person i know is on edge until the very last second of these after how this series has gone. boy needs to stay in the net and they all need to start playing like they care.

Way to go MN Wild! I'm hoping they can pull off the win in game 7 because the Hawks will smoke'em. The Avs would be a much harder series for the hawks even though they'll still be the favorites. The BOS/Habs series is gonna be a must watch for me. If I had to bet I'd pick BOS in 7 but I'll be rooting for the Habs.

Man I just love the LA Kings in this series. For some reason San Jose just seems so scummy. Probably because I hate Joe Thorton and love J Quick. Go Kings in game 7!
I hate the fact that NBCSN is pretty obscure, can only find it on some cable networks and often on the higher end packages.
Last year I bought the center ice package and didn't have NBCSN. Any games on NBCSN were blacked out on center ice. It was something like 15 Bruins games.
This year I skipped Center ice since I got Sunday ticket this year and NBCSN came in that package. Of course there were only a handful of bruins games this year,
I feel like Minnesota would be a tougher match for the Hawks, as they are more physical and have stronger D. On the other hand, the Avs are probably the only team with nearly the same potent offence as the Hawks left in the playoffs I'd rather see the Avs because Nathan is a home town boy, and if love to see Duchene heal up and play next round. I don't really have any feelings for the Wild. I'm going with the Sharks. They arnt anymore scummy than the Kings. Both very physical, mean teams. I love me some Drew Doughty, and don't like Thorton much either, but the Sharks have been such a force for so long now, and have only really gone deep once or twice, and never made it to the finals. I feel like this is their year. And Logsn Couture has been one of my favourite non-Habs player for a while. Thing is, both teams have to go to war one more time, while the Ducks are sitting back hoping they destroy each other. I just get the feeling that this is the Ducks cup to lose. Getzlaf and Perry are just such a force. Who ever wins between Sharks and Kings have it pretty tough.
I don't feel like Pittsburgh NYR or Philly have really showed anything to be overly concerned about. All are good teams, but the Pens just havnt been playing like a team, and Fleury is REALLY inconsistent, he still makes big saves and has been playing well overall, but so many soft goals.
I have to look past the Bruins right now, because thinking about the habs losing to the bruins just gives me too much anxiety. Can't wait for game one!
Just spent a good amount of my paycheck on round 2 tickets.
From a rivalry standpoint, Id like to see Philly next round, but we've struggled with the matchup against them this season. NY might be the better matchup for us. And it looks like we'll get Gibbons back and both Sutter and Vitale practiced today.
