Johnathon Quick looked good as expected, not sure why these twits on NBC made such a big deal about him being named starting goalie. Also, I think the Americans answered the questions about their lack of "fire power", lol.

I heard the comments about Quick starting. I guess being top-10 in GAA isn't sufficient reason to start someone.

this confirms that American sports announcers know jack shit about hockey. Quick is ALWAYS highly spoken as one of the best goaltenders in the game today. Quick is the only Logical choice as far as I'm concerned. Miller is having an off year.
That said, Carey Price is coming in with a great run the past week, and really hope the days off haven't cooled him down.

FWIW, NBC's normal play-by-play guy (Doc Emrick) is the man and one of the best announcers in any sport. I'm not sure who they're using for the Olympics, but it's not their normal hockey team.
The Rangers' network has Sam "The Shnoz" Rosen and Joe Micheletti, who are phenomenal.

I should have said panelists, cuz I know a lot of the play by play guys down south are some of the best in the business, in any sport! In Canada, we have the opposite. TSN panelists are some of the most knowledgable and well connected people on TV, but try listening to a game on CBC hockey night in Canada.
I am very impressed with Norway's defencive game. I don't feel like Canada has really turned it on yet at all tho. 1-0 half way through the 2nd against Norway is no reason to panic, but it certainly was not expected.
Hats off to Norway! What an effort! I bet they blocked at least 40 shots. AT LEAST! Canada still has not clicked like they're gonna have to, Crosby was almost invisible. That said, its not like Canada really took any shits off. They still dominated all game, and Norway was up to the task. I hope they make some noise in this tournament.
I know this will sound like I'm trying to compensate here, but i would much rather this collection of super stars not get too big a head on their shoulders by blowing out a much weaker team. This game has better prepared them for the tougher games to come, by keeping it close and not getting too loose.

Guys, I'm not even being sarcastic. Why didn't anyone tell me how fucking awesome curling is?
It's been really amusing/depressing watching USA choke. And I'm pretty sure I'm a traitor commie bastard because I got money riding on China winning gold.

Quick should be starting, he's the better goalie regardless.
The bars will be open for the game tomorrow so that is good news.
And I will be there, chug-a-lugging in my Cally jersey.
And I agree about quick, I was just wondering what Bun's thought process was. I realize that Miller has the Olympics experience, but it's not like Quick hasn't played in big games before. He can handle the big stage.
I think he's better than Quick. Quick has had a great season but the way Ryan has performed with such a shity team this year, I don't think Quick could do. Quick has thrived in a better system and most importantly I am a biased Sabres fan.

Well, I'm still lobbying Henrik to get duel-citizenship so he can start the Gold Medal game for the US squad, but I don't think he's budging.
I've always respected Miller even though I don't like the Sabres very much, but at this stage, Quick is just better.
I rooted for the Rangers and Knicks in the 00's, I know what it's like. don't worry.
And the dislike stems from the Brierre days, where your boys would just forecheck the shit out of the Rangers and the entire game would be spent with the Rangers blocking shots and hoping for a lucky breakaway.
