It was unfortunate that I did not get pre-sale as they were sold out like 30 minutes after going on sale but I do not mind paying a little more.
My predicament is that my dad and I are having an argument over general admission versus vip. We have not had vip before but with the payment plan it makes it a little bit easier to have the funds.
Since 2009 we've done general admission...a couple of things to note is that lines are atrocious. Would we have this problem going vip?
Does vip get any special seating at the what stage besides the bleachers?
I like having the ability to find some shade with the tent lounges for vip. Anybody have experience with that?
Vip is like 3 times more cost wise than ga. Is it worth it?
Btw, my dad is a huge fan of Elton John so he definitely wants to get a good seat ( and yes he must sit). Should we wait in line for the pit for this or do something different?
There are really no lines ever with VIP (except for the free meal/beer on the 1st night) The Hill at What and the Pit at which are all the VIP viewing areas. There is shade on the hill and a somewhat air conditioned shaded hospitality tent next to which for VIP. There is no where to sit in the Pit for Elton. The pit for headliners is packed and standing room only.

I would say no to the pit for your dad...I imagine there won't be much moshing going on to Sir Elton (although I'd love to see that) but even so the pit tends to be standing room only. However I do think you could get pretty damn close on the main stage field in general and be able to sit, but if you do you/he should be prepared to have everyone around you standing. If that's not going to work for you/him, sorry to say it but you'd be better off getting a spot farther back...farther back everyone is sitting, if not lying down, if not sleeping or passed the f*ck out.
