Hi, everybody!
My group and I are going VIP this year. It has been a while since I did VIP, so I don't know if things have changed since then. There used to be a check-in at a hotel to exchange your ticket for your wristband, and they gave you a map to the location of the VIP entrance. Is that still the case, or do you roll right up to a VIP entrance now?
The root of my question is that I am calling in some favors to offset the expense of the VIP tix, and the people actually purchasing the tickets will not be in attendance at Bonnaroo.
Do I need to be concerned about getting my name put on the ticket order somewhere?
Do they verify the ticket order with a credit card or ID when you arrive?
Do I maybe need to place the order myself and get reimbursed by the favor givers?
Or am I over thinking it, and if you have a VIP ticket in your hand you are fine? (most likely scenario)
If you've got a VIP wristband, you'll be fine. If you have a normal wristband and a voucher for a VIP upgrade, you'll be fine. A friend in my car had a GA wristband and a voucher and we just pulled over for two minutes while he got the VIP wristband.
Any other option and I have no idea. But there is a tiny little customer service "hut" at the VIP entry, so I imagine as long as you've got the necessary documentation, you'll be fine.
Most likely, even if someone else buys the tickets, they just put your address as the shipping address and you get all your shit mailed directly to you for zero hassle.

Thanks for the reply, carsoni. I'm not quite clear on what you meant. Does 'Roo mail our wristbands directly to us now, or do we still get tickets that we show in order to receive our wristbands? I was wondering about how it works to actually get your wristband put on your arm. Thanks!

They mail out the wristbands to you now, but you're not allowed to put them on until you get to the entrance. Once there the attendant will put it on for you.
