Here's my plan.
I want to lose 25 pounds by the time Bonnaroo comes around. On Sunday, after four days in Las Vegas watching hoops, I am starting the program. I am paying $10 a pound to the Bonnaroo Works fund for every pound I lose. If anyone else wants to get on board, I will will do the same donation on their behalf (up to a total of $5K). I am going to post a picture (no face, yet) and a weight (on Sunday) and will do so every week.
So what you're saying oneandtwenty is that you'll donate $10 for every pound I lose up until Bonnaroo? I think I might have just found my motivation to shed a few winter layers. I lost 20 pounds last year and I just want to lose a little more, so no worries, you won't have to donate 5k on my part! What an awesome offer though!
That's a heck of a gesture. Hope the good karma plays out in spades for you. Not sure if I can contribute myself currently, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread in hopes my finances allow me to donate in celebration of a healthy Roo as well.
dude I gained ten pounds in the past couple weeks...winter has been brutal. Since i have found solace in pancakes bacon and sausage, who do i make the check out to?

PS are you familiar with QSAROO? I don't want to tell you where to donate your money, but QSAROO does all kinds of amazing work for people on this board and elsewhere.
this is awesome! thanks for the motivation. i'm going to double down and give $10 for every pound i lose to a youth bike shop that i work with. i'll post a pic in the next couple of days once i get to the gym and get a baseline weight reading.
As of 3 days ago I started my 100 days till Roo workout (yes i realized i started with 97 days to go , but I'll make those days up somewhere along the line) and i would love any/all motovation. I dont think im confident enough in my before photos but as soon as i see some progress i will post. Currently sitting at 210 lbs and hoping to be down closer to 185 by the time Roo rolls around. Working out was so much easier when it was mandatory. Time to do work!

i'm in with 15 i'd like to lose. is it ok if i post scale/body pics and not face? not that i'm flattering myself to think anyone would want to stalk/rape/kill me, but being a woman in a sea of internet dudes has made me extra cautious.

This past year, I went from 206 to 185 from Feb 1 2013 to Feb 1 2014...but have put a few of those back on the past month Four things got me there that I wanted to share with you. This will do wonders for you guys and your mind, but don't get down on yourself if you miss your mark by Bonnaroo, just celebrate that you've made a choice to better yourself. Good luck and hopefully we can meet on the Farm to celebrate together.
Engine 2 Diet - There's a website, a book, and some premade items that are sold at Whole Foods. It's essentially a vegan diet without processed foods and all the stigmas of saying "I'm vegan." I didn't do this 100% but it sure helps shed pounds in a healthy way.
This training regiment - If the distances get too tough, just keep doing the last distance you were able to do until you feel like pushing it further...and get real running shoes. There are shops that will make sure you're fitted with the right type to match your feet and your gait (how you run).
Juicing

I agree! The diet is far more important than the workout. Raw fruits and veggies will get you lean and mean and improve every aspect of your life. There's a great book "Thrive" by Brendan Brazier who is a world class athlete. If you're familiar with Whole Foods then you're probably familiar with his line of supplements, Vega.
There's also the 80/10/10 diet that Dr. Doug Graham started. It's 80% carbs 10% protein and 10% fat. I don't follow that diet exactly but I noticed the more carbs I eat the better shape I'm in. This is based on a raw vegan diet so the carbs are mainly fruit. When I ventured back into eating dairy, seafood, and processed carbs is when I start getting outta shape. On this diet I can lose a pound a day fairly easy without exercise.
Easy way way to get into the raw vegan diet is smoothies for breakfast, juicing and fruit for snacks/small meals, and very large salads for dinner. Homemade non dairy dressing will be your best bet, there are a ton of recipes online and even videos on Youtube. There's this goofy fucker named Dan McDonald aka the life regenerator or DTM(Dan the man). He's a bit quirky but he knows his shit when it comes to juicing and living raw. I've learned a lot from this guy and he has thousands of videos on Youtube, mostly 10 minutes long. He also sells some DVDs but I stick to the free stuff.

I've gained back about 5-7 over my idea weight (the weight where I fit into all my clothing). I dropped it after the January 1st, "I'm gonna do this!" motivation, then gained it back with the February half price off Vday candy. I'd be glad to jump on this!
I weighed myself yesterday (my phone was dead so no photo), but I was at 173.4. This week must of been tougher on me than I thought, because I was fully expecting 180. I don't know what that means for my 15 lbs goal because my biggest goal is just about being generally healthier and not so much about losing weight.

I was trying to figure out the same thing since the forum has exceeded its limit. At any rate, I weighed in at 186 today, which was several less pounds than I expected. I'm ready to knock out some pounds now!
You've got this man. It's going to take some will power, but what good things don't. Cutting out sodas and alcohol will go a long way. Best of luck to you!
Count me in on this! Longtime lurker, been going to Bonnaroo every year since 2009 and wanted to get in better shape again to survive the long Tennessee days! This will be nice motivation to keep it up though. Currently at 180.8, I'll post pics when I get a chance to upload them. Thanks for doing this oneandtwenty, good luck everybody!

This is awesome. Just last week I told myself I need to shed some serious weight. Not only for Roo, but for a healthier life in general. I weighed myself on Thursday at 274lbs. Since then I've been running 6-8 miles a day. I'll weigh in again this Thursday and can post a pic.
I'll buy you a beer (light if necessary) in June
