I took another look at the brochure (see image below) that I got with the tix package today looking for something else (which I found), but at the same time I noticed that the wording about the two VIP viewing areas for the What & Which Stages looks a bit wonky (or at least not in line with everything I've read). It reads as though both Which AND What are going to have VIP viewing areas at the front, one to the right & the other to the left. This sounds right for everything I read about Which, but not so much What. Isn't the What viewing area usually in the back, on the Hill? I read a thread on here where people were discussing a viewing area that they had last year at the front left of What & I am thinking that this is to what they are referring? And that's great & all (I'm especially excited about being in the front of the pit for many of the Which performances), but where does that leave the Hill as part of the VIP viewing area? I was looking forward to hanging out there with my blanket for a couple of the headliners... Thoughts?

I think they're talking about the mound at the What stage, it's on the left side.
OOh, I guess I got confused because it looks to be so far back from the stage, so far that you wouldn't even really think left so much as back. The wording on this makes it sound like it is right up there with the Which viewing area...
This is discussed a lot in other thread. The hill has great viewing, laid back, can definitly always find a chill spot.. The GA area has more energy, more rowdiness.. I go between the two depending what I want to do. If i'm trying to eat spicey pie and take a break maybe hit the Hill. If i'm ready to rage dance maybe hit GA. If i'm really feeling saucy I'll go for the What pit. There is no pit for the VIP at What I emailed them already as well and got back, Thank you for your interest in the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival!
The only viewing are for the What Stage is the mound that you mentioned.

Yeah, I remember reading about it in the other thread (which is probably why the weird wording on the brochure caught my eye, but then couldn't remember where I was reading it, haha). Well, that is a relief, as most of the acts (which the exception of Jack White, maybe) that I am interested in seeing at What are definitely chill on the blanket on the hill types of things ;-) I am super excited for the Which Stage pit, though!! Oh and lets not forget about like carpeted AC bathrooms on the hill

Haha, no way I am forgetting about those! The AC filled bathrooms w/ real plumbing, shorter walk & easier to obtain showers are 95% of the reason I went with VIP vs. GA. The rest is just gravy; delectable down-home southern gravy, but gravy nonetheless ;-)

For most of the headliners this year I'm totally fine with enjoying the hill. But I am also going to use the fuck out of the Which stage VIP pit. That shit is going to be in full effect for Phoenix, Skrillex, Cake, Kaskade and Capital Cities.

I know what you are talking about. When I got VIP in 2012, I went up to the pit for the Black Lips. The front of GA was absolutely crazy packed, had crowd surfing, all the stuff you expect from a hyped up crowd. The VIP pit had about 30 people standing there. Total different experience.

I lived in that pit last year we just coincidently had A LOT of acts at Which and in tents. Had VERY little we caught at What. I think we did like 6 or 7 shows from the pit at Which.. It was pretty damn awesome. I mean I railed like 4 shows, high fived Alex from Edward Sharp. Edward Sharp & Lumineers were the only one that I can recall ended up with a pretty large pit line pre-show. After Mumford cancelled a large influx of people that would be at What ended up fluxing over to Which so that show was quacking packed.
I had to wait in line a couple of times for the Which VIP pit. David Byrne and St. Vincent comes to mind but it seems like there was another time or two I had to wait. I eventually got in every time as people left but it was at capacity for at least some points during the festival. I do remember being in there a few times and thinking that if more people didn't use it they would just take it away, it's silly to reserve unused room for people that aren't utilizing it when it's so slammed on the other side of the rail.

I have a few acts I am super excited to see at Which, but most of my absolute faves are in the tents. At least it works out to where I only have to camp out hours ahead of time for the shows I am obsessively excited about.. And I love that Jake Bugg is playing before Andrew Bird, so we will already be front & center for that show. Now I just need to figure out a way to not have to leave to go to the bathroom for over four hours, while also drinking copious amounts of water (& I am sure we won't want to do Birdy without at least a slight happy beer buzz on top of that).
Edit: just remembered wiz Khalifa is at Which. I am ridiculously excited for that! And it looks like it is going to be raining pretty badly all day Sunday so I'm glad I won't have to camp out in the mud for hours ahead of time for pit space!

No. Not at What stage. The VIP viewing area at WHICH is on the right pit.

Same with the Other Stage. This Thursday, first thing, I am going to scope out all stages and talk to the staff to see if VIP are welcome in different viewing areas.
