So pumped. I'm missing out on seeing them this weekend with brother Simone in an intimate studio/barn session that will be recorded for a live album for Simone. It cost a pretty penny and is up in Woodstock so I just couldn't make it work with all my bills and car problems.
This is a great conosolation prize.
Now....anyone who needs a primer for Felice Brothers just let me know. I will school you on their music.

Do you remember the album you played for me two summers ago as we drove in to the fest? It wasn't a traditional release for them and was super folky.
I've narrowed it down to two via their Wiki.

I think so k2b. I believe it was God Bless You Amigo.
It was a self-released album they made to raise some money for a new tour van.
It had something like 8 original songs and 12 traditionals (or swap those numbers....can't remember). That one definitely has some older, folk songs that were played by Woody Guthrie and others.
This is one of the folk/traditional songs from that album that they've played at NFF:
And another:
Let me know if you have any trouble finding the album

Last two Folk Fest friendly shows of the month this week.
Can't remember who this was... Great show though!
Absolutely incredible show from Neutral Milk Hotel! I didn't want to break their strict no photo rules, especially since I was in spitting distance from Jeff, but here's a "before and after" shot. I would kill a man too see them at NFF.
Great month of eight shows! Glad that two have been added to the lineup so far! (Shakey and Decemberists!) Only one show next month, Pokey LaFarge!

How was the ezra show?
Really good. The music sounded great and he's got great stage banter, but it seemed to be missing something. Probably wouldn't see him again (other than a festival set).
Joe Fletcher and Margo Price are both really good. Margo used to be in a band called Buffalo Clover who I saw open up for The Wild Feathers last year, but they've broken up and she's started a solo career that looks fairly promising.

Ian Fitzgerald is fantastic! He was actually one of my predictions! Check him out!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Was it just me or did they seem to constantly screw up Jeff's mic? I was over to the left and from our angle it seemed like he kept looking over to the soundboard like "wtf are you doing"

John Moreland is great, don't know the other people on the Wildwood lineup. Does anyone know, is this all those artists collaborating, or is it like Billy Reid curating a stage for Friday?

I'm guessing that they'll all play back to back on one day on the Museum Stage. There will probably be collaborations though if any of the bands are friends.

I searched Facebook for Sammy and although I didn't see a page for him, I saw old Joe Fletcher posts about him. He toured with him in the fall of 2013 and called Sammy his friend and advertised Sammy's GoFundMe to get down to the Americana Music Festival. So they're definitely a potential collab.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think he couldn't hear his guitar for a lot of it. He kept motioning over to them to turn it up. He went right up to the monitors a few time to listen as well. It sounded great for me though!
Lucius announced at their show tonight that they're playing a free show this summer at Prospect Park in Brooklyn. I have a feeling that will be line up with Newport and that upstate gig with The Decemberists
So I was wrong about Lucius, their Brooklyn show is 6/13. I'm still hoping their opening date Decemberist will lead them back to the Fort.
Jason Isbell is playing Brooklyn on the Friday of Newport, though, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them bring him back, especially with a new album on the way

This is about as unscientific as it gets, but I was looking at who Newport has started following recently on Twitter. It's almost all artists they've added, but a couple other names, most notably James Taylor. Is he in the running as a headliner?

Also Brian Fallon of Gaslight Anthem

Also, Andy Shauf added today. (HA! BEAT BEAKER TO IT!) I'm not at all familiar with who this is, should I? He's listed above Sufjan on Saturday. Unless it's just a mistake, he's only got 7,722 Facebook "likes".
Edit: It has been fixed, he's down at the very bottom now. I hope you enjoyed your minute at the top kid.
