Finished listening to all 16 and I'll get my votes in tomorrow (being on a plane the last few days helped). If I get a chance over the weekend to start on next week's matches, do you know what that will be? This week's winners vs. 65-72? Or something else?

It'll be the 65-68 albums vs the 4 lowest and 125-228 vs 129-132

Great. Thanks for the quick reply. (Assume you meant 125-128)

Voting will end today at Noon for this roujd. Results and Week 1 Matchups will be posted at some point tonight.
I gotta say, so far, I haven't gotten quite as many votes cast as I expected, but its far from a total no-show. I have somewhere around 15-20 ballots in my inbox
I was one of the dum fuqs who voted too early last time. So are polls open for round 2?
Not quite yet. 1159 PM on Thursday. I'm considering amending that rule after this week though. I feel it might've hampered the amount of votes, and didn't really do as much for discussion as I anticipated
#65 Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation v. #200 Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On
#66 Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures v. #199 Prince and The Revolution - 1999
#67 Otis Redding - Otis Redding Sings Soul v. #196 The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
#68 Portishead - Dummy v. #195 Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill
#125 Nirvana - In Utero v. #132 Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
#126 Blondie - Parralel Lines v. #131 Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
#127 Jay Z - The Blueprint v. #130 Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
#128 The Eagles - Hotel California v. #129 Stevie Wonder - Talking Book
Nirvana beats out Winehouse and Sonic Youth trumps Marvin Gaye. Jay-Z vs. AnCo is a doozie. I just listened to em both and I'm struggling to choose (currently leaning toward AnCo.) So is Dummy vs. License to Ill but I think Dummy takes it. And Joy Division vs. Prince and the Revolution... Unknown Pleasures winsss.
So still need to re-listen to Parralel Lines/Fear of a Black Planet, Yoshimi/Otis Redding Sings Soul, and Hotel California/Talking Book. I'm excited to because I haven't listened to a couple of those albums ever and the ones I have listened to, I haven't done so in a long time (except yoshimi.)
(To be clear, I know the voting isn't open yet, I'm just trying to do my part and drum up some discussion.)

All that is left for me to listen to/decide on is Hotel California versus Talking Book. Going into this, I'm thinking Hotel California is gonna win this one, but I haven't listened to either album in years, so I'm excited for this one!

come on man, help me in my mission to get the fuckin Eagles out of this thing as quickly as possible. Stevie is an angel.

Alright, alright, I'll give Stevie a fair shot today
My votes are in! This 16 albums per week pace is a stretch but I made it through them all again this week. And I am enjoying the process.

Favorite album of the week - Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation Closest call - Joy Division over Prince Semi-regret - I strongly dislike The Eagles but told myself I would give an honest listen and somehow enjoyed Hotel California over Stevie Wonder. I found Talking Book a bit underwhelming. Superstition is a great song but the rest I didn't find that strong.

Here were my harder ones: I voted against Otis Redding since the album is mostly covers. Portishead had to beat Beasties on this one. Glad it wasn't against Paul's Boutique. Stevie Wonder won just cause I really don't like the Eagles.
