UK and Louisville is a fine rivalry and this game will be meaningful for the fans of each team but I really won't care much unless/until they meet in the NCAA Tourney.

That was tough. That game was hideous on both ends. UK had a very off game and Louisville didn't capitalize, if they'd have sunk those wide-open fast breaks and some of the wide-open jumpers they easily would have taken that game. Louisville's big names did absolutely zero to help their cause. Trez was invisible. Big Game Wayne did his usual. I could've outplayed Chris Jones.
3 in the top 5 ain't bad. The ACC is gonna have some great conference games this year.
I think the ACC is going to be really top heavy. The top teams will hit the ACC Tourney will really great records, and the middle will miss the post season after getting beaten down by the top. The bottom (where my Deacons will again take up residence) will just pray they are not relegated to another conference.
I'm very sad to hear about the passing of Dean Smith. He was a great coach. Even though I am a life long Duke basketball fan, I have nothing but respect for him and what he did for the ACC and college basketball.

#1 - How is there no activity in this thread right now?
#2 - It's beyond stupid that the AAC tournament is being played in Hartford. UConn without a doubt has the biggest advantage of anybody in all these conference tournaments.
Last night I was watching parts of Villanova vs. Providence, and GW vs. URI. I'm hoping the two RI schools and UConn all get into the tournament. Providence seems to be the only lock so far, the other two probably have to get automatic bids to get in.
Wish I got to see more of the UConn game, that one looked like a good one.
I have no idea what it is about UConn lately, but they seem to turn it on when it matters most. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they won the American.

It's a fairly new conference, so I'm guessing picked whatever arena/city was big enough to host the tournament and had a big enough space open for that weekend.
I'm not going to complain since Hartford could use all the tourist business it can get. But eventually I can see it moving to a more centralized location.

It's tough when thinking centralized locations for the AAC. Prob the best option for the teams that are in the conference right now is somewhere in Texas, where you could draw fans from SMU, Houston, and Tulsa. I gotta feeling UConn is going to end up winning that tournament now.
They are rotating the tournament. Last year was Memphis, this year UConn and next year Orlando. Yeah, I can't think of a way that the AAC benefits from a central location because the schools are so far-flung and there's no traditional home base since the conference is an amalgam of "lost" schools that nobody wants to play with.
The AAC should learn from the Pac-12 and make a destination tournament in Vegas. Further away for most but just about the easiest city in America to fly into and I bet they would get more people willing to go there than Hartford or Memphis

Maybe Orlando then - though that would be a huge benefit for UCF and to a lesser degree USF
