Registered democrat, but their are a lot of democrats I think are absolute garbage.
Truthfully I just support whatever works. At times those are liberal policies, at times those are conservative ones. I have never voted Republican, but I don't always vote democratic. I'm gonna go with independent for now.

I broke the first site.
In the second test, I tend to agree with Democrats and Greens on current issues. Which is pretty much the only two parties I vote for in major elections. I vote for a few GOP candidates in the local elections but I'm mostly some kind of loon.
Smack dab in the middle of the green box whatever that means. I'm pretty sure it means I hate the repubs and their ilk. However, I'm not a big fan of what either of the major parties have become. By that I mean gold digging whores.

mine came out exactly the same as yours, with just a 1/2 a box lower on the social scale. *Hi five*

According to that website, it means we are just like Ghandi.

I'm a centrist. It all depends on the issue. I lean left on social issues, but right on others. I'm actually a member of a small third party, Modern Whig.

Political labels suck - mostly because people feel they then have to cram everything that really happens in life into the world view of the label they've identified with and that's what really fucks everyone up, especially in the media and politics. So my affiliation is "just a guy trying to do the right thing and often fucking up but sometimes getting it right but always working with the best information he can get, however that works out."

I agree. Having said that:
What kind of fucks me up about the current political labels is that, according to my own definition, I considerate myself a moderate conservative, but the current definition of "conservative" either brings to mind gay hating religious crazies, billionaire CEOs, or Ron Paul crazies.
A few things I believe:
-I believe in hard work -I believe in businesses and business owners. I have no problem with people making money and doing whatever they hell they want with it. I am a fan of capitalism because its created a lot of kick ass things I love, like smart phones and music festivals and video games. -But I believe that in a free market, certain business regulations are necessary to prevent abuse of workers and the environment, as well as provide accurate information about the products and services that are being sold in order to protect consumers of those products and services. -I believe the government should absolutely stay the hell out of everyone's personal life. Anyone of any sex should be able to marry whoever they want. Anyone should be able to use whatever drugs they want in whatever fashion they want, to the extent that it doesn't hurt other people.
I'm not a Republican because I'm not a gay hating asshole. I'm not strictly a libertarian because I believe we do need some government to protect the country itself (military), the environment, and consumers.
I'm not a Democrat because I honestly don't really know what they believe anymore.
So basically like Pops said, it's dangerous for people to choose a "team" then just support whatever the team tells them too.
I've never labeled myself as a member of any party, simply because I think it makes you less likely to really think for yourself on any given issue. I'm to the left of the Kennedys on social issues but much more centre-left on economic issues. I like my drugs legal and my guns illegal - and that's about the most you'll get out of me unless we're chatting in private. I generally refrain from discussing politics in large groups or online - not because I don't care, but because I care too much and might just have a Lewis Black-style meltdown.
Maybe it's in the genes; grandpa was a diplomat & public servant, so obviously quite passionate about politics, but also not supposed to express his personal views in public. The only time I ever feel truly comfortable discussing politics in front of a crowd is when I'm singing - probably because having to keep a rhythm prevents me from devolving into an endless string of profanities.

I agree. It seems like there's too many little third parties out there, and a lot of them formed over minor differences and/or personal disputes between party members. And they're all splitting the votes in a small pool, therefore not really going anywhere fast. There at least a dozen Socialist parties alone, which makes little sense.

I'm pro-choice, pro legalize marijuana, for reducing oil dependency and increasing solar/wind power, for marriage equality and civil rights, pro Affordable Care Act, anti-war, anti-death penalty, for some business restrictions, for the separation of church/state, for Social Security and Welfare, against the Patriot Act and I'm the most right leaning person yet.

I lean libertarian but I tend to vote Independent because I like Democrats for social issues and Republicans for economic issues. I voted mixed ticket the past two elections. New Hampshire is great because both our Republicans and Democrats are not as radical as national leaders. Live Free or Die is the best state motto by the way. It's so majestic and it's a threat!
