Interesting development regarding Von Pearson's status with the team. Whereas Johnson and Williams had an investigation with the authorities started soon after the allegations, Von Pearson's case seems to be going nowhere with no explanation. Curious to see how this develops.
Possibly. It could be one of those times where criminal charges don't go forward, but they are suspended from the team/university due to an honor code violation.

That's certainly a possibility. I would think Jones would have to address this soon, since fall camp starts in three days.
Edit: bonus points to the writer for using "ACC-Coastal bad" as an insult.
It's a shame the SEC is so rarely willing to play the Pac-12, we've got MissSt on our schedule (in like a decade) but even that probably would of never happened if it weren't for our AD being from there.
Coastal is getting better. GT is consistently good, UNC is getting better, I think Miami is coming back, VT is decent, Duke has been the most underrated team the past few years.

Agreed. UT's series with Cal was a really nice two year run. It's always exciting to see new opponents on the schedule rather than the same ones over and over. I can understand some of the reluctance though considering the cost that has to be incurred by the team traveling along with a probably lower turnout than usual from the fanbase of the visiting team.

I would definitely agree that Duke is underrated. They're not threatening for a national title or anything, but they have definitely taken several steps above being the pile of dogshit that they used to be. I think VT is like Tennessee in the mid-00's. They have a coach with the huge connection to the university that needs to go, but nobody seems willing to pull the trigger on it.

And you didn't even mention the team who is going to win 5 ACC Championships in the next 8 years with Coach Duzz at the helm!

Auburn plays Cal in 2021 and 2022, I think. I am really looking forward to going out there for the game.

I like how we're still a meh team. At this point, meh is what I'll take. At least until Andersen starts turning the program around, and the university puts more funding into the program.
Someone didn't really think that one through did they. Probably the same dude that came up with Budweiser's solgan.
Edit: The really sad thing about these two examples, is that in both case I'm sure multiple people had to ok this before we even saw it. You would think that someone would be like I'm not so sure this is a good idea. Kinda sounds like we are condoning rape.

Exactly. You would think someone would think of that especially since they (like Tennessee unfortunately) have multiple ex-players currently involved in criminal proceedings for rape.

they played 22 regular season games between 2002 and 2014, and have another 22 schedule for 2015-2027. That is more than SEC has with the B1G. A lot of the perception that the two conference don't play has to do with matchups. (mostly lower tier SEC teams in the past few years) Maybe I'm just more exposed because UT played Cal, UCLA, and Oregon in the last decade-ish and ASU played missouri a couple years ago, opens with Texas A&M this year, and has a home and home with LSU coming up (it was supposed to be this year, I was going to visit my Vol buddy in Baton Rouge who would have gone maroon and Gold with me).
2015 Arizona State vs. Texas A&M (at Houston) 2016 Alabama vs. USC (at Arlington) UCLA at Texas A&M 2017 Ole Miss at Cal Texas A&M at UCLA 2019 Cal at Ole Miss 2020 Cal at Auburn Colorado at Texas A&M 2021 LSU at UCLA Auburn at Cal Texas A&M at Colorado Stanford at Vanderbilt 2022 Mississippi State at Arizona LSU at Arizona State 2023 Arizona at Mississippi State Arizona State at LSU 2024 UCLA at LSU Vanderbilt at Stanford 2025 Georgia at UCLA Stanford at Vanderbilt 2026 UCLA at Georgia 2027 Vanderbilt at Stanford
there are some pretty meaty matchups in there. There are a couple other factors: the PAC12 plays more conference games, so scheduling an SEC school isn't necessarily in their best interest; the SEC also has quite a few traditional rivalries with ACC teams (Georgia/GT, USCe/Clemson, UF/FSU/theU) plus the "kickoff game" at the georgia dome every year. scheduling a cross-country home and home can be a pain in the ass.
edit: and we don't have any bowl tie-ins. blame tradition/history/willingness to travel. if i'm SEC i'm sure as shit not gonna come out to the west coast for the muffler store scarlet begonia bowl unless it's part of the playoff or something.

I read an article on it yesterday where they asked Jones about his spot on the team. Jones said he will have to earn his place on the depth chart, and that any details would be between him, Pearson and the administration. Makes me feel like the key term in the police's response was that there was insufficient evidence rather than him being innocent.
I found some of Tennessee's picks interesting (hello Dillon Bates), so I figured other people might as well. Also, it might help the NFL lurkers in here with what players they should be on the lookout for for their teams in the coming drafts.
Teams of note for here: 2. Alabama 5. Notre Dame 6. Ole Miss 9. Georgia 12. Auburn 14. Clemson 21. Tennessee 22. Florida 24. Pitt (I was surprised too, potentpotables and ncbst3)
Btw, I didn't list all the SEC teams. Only the ones I could immediately think of someone who is a fan.

We are that low after like 4 straight 6-6 regular seasons. Hopefully Coach Duzz will get us near the top, though it will be tough to replicate the Majors/Sherrill years.

We produce a lot of stars, though.
They were the team that really stuck out to me that isn't a team many (if anyone) would rank in the AP Top 25, but they still got recognized for having legit NFL talent on the roster.
RE: Auburn. Duke Williams and Carl Lawson definitely have the most pro potential. Duke reminds me of Julio Jones because he's enormous and not afraid to run across the middle. Lawson will be a great player at the next level as long as he stays healthy.
Jeremy Johnson for sure has the size and the arm strength to do it but he's been a back up his whole career. He's basically Cam Newton's size but is a pocket passer instead of a running back who can throw. Apparently he's ridiculously fast too so it'll be a fun season to watch.
I just hope our D-line can take over this season. The thinking seems to be that Auburn's secondary is our weak point. Hopefully that will be a moot point and we'll just sack everyone all the time.
