I am considering flying into the Nashville airport early Friday morning and flying out on Monday afternoon (mid-day). I have been fortunate enough to drive in every year, but am having to fly this year...just wondering what the consensus is on the shuttle service to and from the airport? Is it reliable? Will I have to wait due to large volumes? Would I have to hop in a line super early on Monday to catch my flight on Monday afternoon? Sure can't beat that price! Just wondering what everyone's past experiences have been with this. I could rent a car if I really needed to.... Thanks so much for your help!!
The shuttle is great, super easy. They check your ticket and wristband you right at the airport (with no bag search) then drop you off right next to tent-only. I waited about 45 minutes for pickup. I had no problem Monday with a flight around noon, ended up being there far too early.
If you don't know already, tent-only is really close to Centeroo and has lots of elbow room.
The only downside on Monday was that the driver had some Top 40 country crap really loud on repeat when everyone just wanted to sleep.
Go ahead and make friends as best you can, I was surprised to see that everyone on the bus was kinda shy and quiet, not rude, just keeping to themselves. If anyone can get a bus livened up, I've got a feeling you're the one to do it, Becca!

you are correct tho im so gonna make friends. im hoping that im gonna be able to point out some roo-ers at the airport in NYC before i even get on the plane! (im flying down alone, and meeting my peeps in TN)

people were quiet on the shuttle when I rode it last year. think it's just that post-roo weariness. I was riding alone, and thought people would be more friendly too
We gotta get that Roo bus rawkin' !!! I say we burn some CD's and make the driver play them.... ;)pretty please:D That should get everybody movin' and laughin'!!! Once that happens we'll all be one big happy family:).....maybe throw in some shooters too! hells yeah! Cheers

Thanks guys!! I will be coming into Nashville first thing Friday morning (hopefully arriving around 8am)...hope to shuttle it over with some cool peeps! This is my 4th 'roo and I am PUMPED.. Thanks again for the help, I have purchased my shuttle tix and am READY TO GOOO!
Anyone have any suggestions for bringing water when flying in?
A couple of people in other threads have said that they've been able to check a cooler as baggage, all sealed up with duct tape. Get a big Coleman with wheels and put your water in there (subject to baggage allowance of course).
I'm flying on a "buddy pass" from a friend of mine who works for American Airlines... not to brag, but it is only costing me 37 dollars to fly to Nashville from D.C. I'm flying standby, and my friend was very specific that I could only have 1 item of checked luggage.. that'll be my framepack. I'm guessing ill just get it at wallyworld
