I availed myself of the gimmick the new T-mobile CEO threw out about emailing him directly. I did, and got a phone call rather promptly (couple of days) from their "Executive Response Center". I've also tweeted to the CEO that Verizon is getting insane publicity on the farm as no one other than Verizon customers are able to do anything but SMS or phone calls - NO *MMS*. Well, that's not entirely true. Around 8 a.m. when everyone's asleep, my phone will finally connect and retrieve MMS and e-mails.
The Executive Response Center contacted me to tell me that "we now have 4G/LTE coverage in that area, so nothing needs to be done." I had suggested they roll out the Cellular On Wheels ("COWs") like they do for Super Bowls, Mardi Gras, etc, etc.
Does anyone know where someone already on the farm can tell us if T-Mobile is, in fact, running LTE/4G?
At&t I believe does a better job with infrastructure on the farm. I see their logo on equipment and know there was a small cow in pod 1 beside medical. I had all kinds of data access in pod 1. And most times mms and data in centeroo.
Also the cows are located between the arch and that tent. Also some repeaters on the clock tower.

I have Verizon and it worked amazingly all weekend with only a few drops in data strength to be able to access twitter and such which is what I was using for meetups with people
att was fucked. last year i was good, this year.. nope
We have ATT and it worked pretty much all weekend. It felt pretty good because we have windows phones and it's usually our shit that isn't working. Now all of the people with real smartphones had to deal with it.
I have Republic Wireless which uses Sprint and only had data/MMS service from 6:00 - 8:30 AM before everybody got up. The rest of the time no data and hit or miss on SMS & MMS. But it's cheap $25/unlimited everything so I tolerated it. I didn't feel so tied to my phone for 5 days. Liberating in ways.
