I wanted to start a thread for everyone to share bands that only made one (awesome) album and then broke up or stopped making music for whatever reason.
Earlier this year I discovered Under The Influence Of Giants who featured the lead singer of AWOLNATION back in '06 and that album was freaking great. I am also a big fan of EndEverAfter's Kiss Or Kill album from '07.

'The bottom was too fuckin crowded Just like a crab in a barrel I fought to get out if it But they wouldn't allow it And still i got out and go' - Killer Mike
I was thinking about making a thread like this, but instead breaking up or whatever, just never recaptured what they had on their break through album.
Weezer. First record was pop perfection. Sooooo many hits that still get played all the time today. Songs that I personally still enjoy everytime I hear them. I could listen to "My Name Is Jonas", "No One Else", "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here", "Buddy Holly", "Surf Wax America", "Say It Ain't So", and "In The Garage" a thousand more times and never get tired of them. I sound like I'm some rabid Weezer fan. I'm really not, its just that the Blue Album is a fantastic record.
Yes, Pinkerton is a good record. Tired of Sex and El Scorcho are great. But in terms of sheer song writing awesomeness, it doesn't compare to Blue, IMO. And then every record after Pinkerton sucks. I mean a lot of really really bad albums. I dunno, I wonder what the hell happened.

I think they are far from being one hit wonders considering they have a lengthy catalog that has garnered new fans over several generations. Also, Pinkerton rules. I'll take that over the blue album any day in fact.

The Strokes. Everything after Is This It has been as boring as most of you think Forest Hills Drive was.
First of all, you're wrong about The Strokes because Room on Fire is a great album, despite not completely living up to the expectations set by Is This It. Second, you might want to the read the OP.
