Did Boston break up after their first album? Not that I'm a fan of them but that debut is full of hits.
They released five more studio albums after their debut. None were nearly as successful, but two hit #1 on the Billboard 200, and three were certified platinum or multi-platinum.
Earlier this year I discovered Under The Influence Of Giants who featured the lead singer of AWOLNATION back in '06 and that album was freaking great. I am also a big fan of EndEverAfter's Kiss Or Kill album from '07.
What ya got?
UTIOG actually have an unreleased album from before their major label debut titled Bitch City. Pretty groovy stuff. And they recorded at least one song fer a follow up record that was on their MySpace.
I would say Hot Sauce Johnson with their album Truck Stop Jug Hop. They too have some unreleased material, at least a follow up before their label folded, and then they reunited in 2005 fer almost a year or so and recorded more. The reunion material showed up on MySpace fer a bit before the band called it quits again.

I think it sounded more like UTIOG than Home Town Hero who I just couldn't get into back in what...2000/2001? Maybe I should give that album another listen.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I wanna add Vonnegutt to this list. One EP in 2010 and 1 album in 2012 and nothing since it looks like. Really good indy hip hop, similar to Air Dubai if you like that style.

This album immediately sprang to mind for me, too. I wasn't into Avery Island the last time I listened to it, but I'll give it another spin today and see if it still falls flat for me.
adding Black Kids. Randomly discovered them today looking at related artists to The xx on Spotify. Just one album in 2008 called Partie Traumatic, lots of fun to listen to.
