I really want to, but can't commit. I can't secure the time off work this close, so will just have to wait and see what my schedule looks like close to the event.
There is a lot of talent in that lineup, and the potential they have for the light/art installations is massive.
And I NEED to see Nicolas Jaar.

And all of them (save for Kendrick) I've never seen live before.
And yea, the light installation thing has me really excited too. I'm very interested to see what they do with it.
You should definitely look into Philip Glass and Psychic TV then. Com Truise is pretty great too.

i really really want to go to this, I dont live far from Houston at all
but for now i need to save my money for fun fun fun fest so i really hope this doesn't sell out. if by like the beginning of december its not sold out then count me in
So Shamir was added after the fact. I didn't even notice that, but I'm still not sure he's replacing Mystikal. I think the "?????" spot is where he was supposed to go. Their FB says they have more announcements coming. I'm wondering if the announcement will be who the "????" is or if it'll just be general announcements.
I wish Battles wasn't during Janelle and New Order, but I'll live.
We were talking about this. With how many acts on Saturday I actually want to see at this point, it sucks that 3-4ish out of the 5ish are at the same time... But, at least it leaves plenty of time to explore the art installations.
Also, having New Order playing outside is interesting. With nearly everything else being indoors except that stage I have no clue how I'm going to dress for this thing... It's not exactly going to be warm at night in the middle of December (H 65/ L 43).

Oh, yeah? I didn't even know there was an outdoor stage. I'm kinda bummed about that. Was hoping to catch Kendrick indoors in a studio space with crazy lights. I'll do more studying up on the deets of this one after FFF. Actually, this Houston Press article, calling the event an un-festival, states there will be at least three outdoor stages in a six block area surrounding Silver Street Studio. I expected to be hopping from gallery to gallery inside the building. Saturday certainly isn't as strong as the other day for me, but there is plenty there and I know I'll find more to excite me once I start digging. I haven't considered my wardrobe, but I'm curious about what the attendance will be. The day passes should certainly help fill things out. I'm contemplating skipping Nico Jaar for Death Grips and a better spot for Kendrick. I seriously doubt that happens, unless I'm feeling extra crunk. I look forward to seeing you both there.

yup, we're officially in. Time off approved and tickets purchased.
I'm going off the map DFN released. We compared that side by side with the google maps ariel view of the site. It looks like everywhere else is indoors except the "outdoor exhibit" & the main stage. I'm very interested on whether this is mostly indoors or outdoors. I don't really care what I wear usually, but if it's outdoors I need to dress accordingly for the weather.
Yea, I can't gauge how this thing is selling. The release of the student discount & the day passes makes me wonder if they're having trouble moving tickets or if they were going to do this all along. Day passes & discounts like that aren't unusual for fests. Does FPSF usually do day passes? I'd imagine however that fest does their ticketing would be indicative of their plan for this fest. Not a clue what to expect attendance wise. I'm also wondering what the total capacity is.

Uggh, don't I know it. One of my worst conflict blocks in all my years of festivaling.
Psychic TV are a bucket list act, but New Order are pretty much at the top of that list. The plan right now is to catch the first 30-40 minutes of Psychic TV and the last 30-40 minutes of Janelle Monaé, and stake out a decent spot for New Order. As much as Battles have killed it both times I've seen them (Roo '08 & Moog '11), the conflicts mean they don't factor into the equation as much as they deserve. We may still stop by though, it all depends how we're feeling at the time.
And holy quacknuggets... Prince Rama. Thanks for making this bloc even more of a heartbreaker.
Sounds like a good fest that I may just have to hit up...especially since it's so close. I'm guessing I'll have to wait until after Thanksgiving to decide if I go, just to see where I'm at with a NYE decision. However, I'm guessing I will more than likely make this trip!

there is currently a groupon available & you can use the discount code "student" for 15% off.
And I'm assuming they're the ???? on the schedule. That time slot makes sense for them.
No clue how it's selling. I want to say not well, but that's just a guess based on all the different ways they're angling at selling tickets and massive amounts of sponsored posts that come up for me. But it's also a first year festival, so the marketing blitz 30 days out makes complete sense. So I really have no clue.

Assuming its not selling well, I feel like the price may be killing it. I know plenty of people that loved the line-up but were completely turned off by how expensive it was. It costs as much as FFF Fest which I went to earlier this month and that one was 3 days with 4 days of free pre-shows/aftershows
The light shows and art stuff may make this one worth it but its kind of hard to show how cool that'll be until they actually have the fest.

I just purchased my Friday 10 pm ticket for Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens at Sundance Cinema a couple of blocks from the venue to make a complete weekend of exciting spectacle.
I wonder if the Houston Jukely might be getting passes for this. Because my work schedule just changed, and I might be off for this.
Let's hope so. I have a feeling it's not selling too great. I'm sure they anticipated that and the small crowd setting has something to do with the high ticket price for a 2 day fest.
I don't think it's selling well either, apparently there's half-priced tickets selling on StubHub.
I got mine though, and I really wasn't expecting to go to a festival this late in the year, but this looked way too fascinating and unique to pass up. I would choose Day For Night over this year's ACL, which I skipped, 100% of the time.
Cannot fracking wait to see the Philip Glass show, and I'm bummed it's only an hour too. I saw him once before in an Opera House just playing piano for a ridiculous amount - if they're utilizing an art show to accompany his hypnotic tunes, in a art/music festival? Yes please.
Excited to catch Janelle Monae, New Order, HEALTH, Death Grips, Flying Lotus (all for the first time) and Kendrick. I saw him at ACL 2013, and honestly I was not impressed. He basically just stood still on the stage and stared out into the MASSIVE crowd (one of the biggest I'd seen in my 12 music festivals) for the majority of the show. Since then, he has seemed way more energetic and passionate in the performances I'd seen on TV. I'm looking forward to seeing that in person.
